HS or Folliculitis? Believe it or not, HS is commonly misdiagnosed as folliculitis! This typically causes a delay in treatment and HS can continue to worsen while waiting for a proper diagnosis. We hate to see this happen to our fellow warriors! If you would like to learn more about these two conditions just use the link below! hsconnect.org/the-difference… #HidradenitisSuppurativa #HSConnectorg #LivingWithHS #misdiagnosis #HSwarrior

AAD is the largest dermatology conference in the US, with over 20,000 dermatologists! HS Connect shows up to help bring awareness to understand what an average HS patient goes through and inspire them to treat more HS patients. This year Brindley has the honor to share her story at the Presidents Gala, so stay tuned for her speech -- you will not want to miss it! #HSConnectorg #AAD #HSawareness #HSConnect

Hidradenitis Suppurativa does not discriminate. No one is off-limits, as it can happen at any time to anyone, anywhere there is a hair follicle on the body. Be sure to contact a dermatologist near you if you are getting more than a couple boil-like abscesses per year! Use the link below to find a dermatologist near you who is familiar with HS! hsconnect.org/dermatologist-… #LivingwithHS #HSConnect #dermatologist #HidradenitisSuppurativa

When it comes to parenting an HS warrior, there may not be a handbook, but there is incredible support. Be sure to check out our parent support group, and if you have a teen, be sure to let them know about our Teen support group where they can discuss their diagnosis among their peers. For more information on these groups use the links below! zoom.us/meeting/regist… us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regist…

Researchers at The University of Texas at Austin are developing an affordable apparel solution for individuals living with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), specifically for underarm and under-breast areas. We believe the most effective solutions come from listening to those with lived experience. Completing this five-minute survey will help us better understand what matters most. Information collected in this survey will be used for research and product development purposes to help inform the design of potential apparel solutions for individuals with HS. If you agree to participate, you will complete a one-time online survey that takes approximately 5 minutes. The survey includes questions about: Your age and gender Clothing sizes Your HS symptoms and flare patterns Drainage experiences Current bandage or garment use Costs related to managing HS Preferences for fabrics and garment features Optional open-ended comments about your experience All information is self-reported. Responses are anonymous and will be used for research and product development purposes. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary. You may stop at any time, or you may skip any question you do not wish to answer. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at comprevawear@gmail.com. utexas.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cu…

If you find yourself struggling with what you think may be HS and are wondering what to do next -- we're here to help! Hidradenitis Suppurativa is not rare, it's just rarely talked about. But we are breaking the stigma together. If you can relate, be sure to use our dermatologist finder tool to find a derm who knows about HS near you. It's important that if you have not been clinically diagnosed to set that appointment & then go take a dive onto our site where you can find many more resources & know that you are not alone.  hsconnect.org/dermatologist-…
