7th graders fulfilled their public speaking skills by giving a “Lesson I Never Asked For” presentation. Students were given carte blanche to choose a topic that intrigued them. We heard a lot of funny, informative, quirky and definitely unique lessons!

Let’s step up Membean by a notch! Students enjoyed a little singing (Emerick took it to the dance floor) while they worked on vocabulary today. TGIF! Have a great weekend!

It’s time for a change! Instead of debates (OH oral standards), students are welcome to speak their minds by completing a project called, “A Lesson I Never Asked For”. They are challenged to speak their minds! My lesson was on the awesomeness of the 90’s. Name this show!

Maria rocked Power of the Pen, placing 7th out of 31 schools at Regionals where only the top writers from districts were able to compete! Maria is an incredibly talented and versatile writer and we are so proud of this achievement! Go HT!! Great job, Maria!!!

7th graders have begun reading The Outsiders and are exploring how the novel communicates real life issues that are both relatable and meaningful. We will continue using writing prompts with each chapter to help students deeply connect with the themes of our new novel.

Twinning became a triple threat today! What a fun coincidence that Mrs. Rupert happened to be wearing the same style shirt!! Wacky Wednesday!

Using only simple materials, up to 30 pieces of paper and 1 roll of tape, students are designing the slowest possible run for a ping pong ball!

6th graders proved their knowledge of comparative and superlative adjectives by becoming teachers. They made their own slides with a theme and asked quiz questions for house points! Check out the Dr. Pepper theme!!

Bowling day with junior high was a blast! Students had a great time just being kids. Thank you to all the parent volunteers, Ms. Flanagan, Mr. Haley, teachers, and Nautical Lanes! Mr. B. took on some students and nearly rolled a turkey!!!

It was delayed because of the snow storm! Sunday, February 8th marked his installation!!

Bishop Malesic officially installed my brother, Fr. Mike Stalla, as the pastor of St. John of the Cross and SS. Robert and William!! It was such a beautiful Mass and reception. Congrats, big bro!!!

Public speaking is a key part of Ohio’s ELA standards. Combining Science Fair with English allowed students to strengthen research, writing, and presentation skills all at once!! Our students rocked this interdisciplinary experience!

Our class theme focused on ideas we can talk about anytime because if we can talk about it, we can write about it! Students participated in a fun, timed breakout activity where they practiced brainstorming, narrowing topics, and stretching their writing skills.
