There are two things that are not going to work, and the sooner people realise that, the better for all of us. They are:
1. Accusing Chamisa of being bribed by ZANU PF without tangible evidence to support such allegations. Such claims may occupy us on Twitter, but the ordinary person has no time for them.
2. Gaslighting the anti‑2030ists because of truly questionable political decisions they made in the past. The middle class sees in them at least a pushback against 2030 that is not coming from other quarters.
Zimbabweans are living in different bubbles, and each believes that their immediate environment is all there is to consider. That’s self‑deception, and that’s our current problem.
What we need now is leadership — not a single person — that unites these two classes, because both are opposed to ZANU PF and to its many unruly and unworthy shenanigans. Such leadership must also reach out to the disgruntled within ZANU PF, including war veterans and the army. Those are also truly opposed to the current ZANU PF. That is what will give us a breakthrough.
The idea that we must, through divisive and invective language, win debates in pubs and on social media is what has emboldened ZANU PF to continue on its ruinous path. “Throw them a bone and they’ll maul each other to death”. If we stay in that cocoon, we are guaranteed to die in our situation.
Don’t be misled by the illusion of perspective.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Zimbabwe Warriors for the gallant effort and unwavering commitment they displayed during the #AFCON2025 tournament. Although we did not progress beyond the group stages, their resilience and fighting spirit made the nation proud.
Defeat is never the end, but a chance to reflect, regroup and return stronger. I urge the team to take this experience as a stepping stone, learn from the setbacks and channel the lessons into future victories.
Zimbabwe believes in you and with unity, discipline and focus, we will rise again.
Thank you for representing us with honour. #GoWarriorsGo

An 'i' was removed owing to the intelligence recommendations that the enemy was intercepting the communication system. It has remained ZPRA since 1973!

The Cabinet has approved the rollout of second-generation smart driving licences in a move aimed at modernising Kenya’s transport and licensing system.
In a Cabinet dispatch released on Monday, December 15, the government said the new licences will be implemented through a public–private partnership framework.
According to the Cabinet, the upgraded licences will integrate smart card technology with an instant fines system, a mobile licence wallet, and a driver merit and demerit points framework. The measures are intended to strengthen enforcement, improve compliance with traffic laws, and enhance overall road safety.
The government noted that the second-generation licences will play a central role in streamlining the country’s licensing process while supporting digital service delivery across the transport sector.
The chip-embedded cards will store a driver’s personal data and driving history and allow for digital record-keeping and electronic payments. Drivers will also be able to access their licence information through mobile applications.
Officials said the enhanced security features built into the new cards are expected to reduce fraud and improve enforcement management, while the integration of digital wallets and mobile access will offer greater convenience for motorists.

During the ongoing 15th NANGO Annual NGO Directors Summer Retreat, the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, represented by Tafadzwa Muvingi, delivered powerful remarks under the sub-theme: “The United Nations’ Perspective Around the Conference Theme.”
Her address underscored three critical priorities for strengthening the role and impact of civil society in Zimbabwe:
1️⃣ Building the capacity of local organisations to drive sustainable development from the ground up.
2️⃣ Promoting an enabling environment that guarantees the safety, independence, and effective operations of CSOs.
3️⃣ Ensuring that financing and partnerships amplify impact—not marginalize local actors.
These reflections reinforce the shared commitment to a vibrant, empowered, and well-resourced civic space.
