Like in the story, at least he isn't Bonnie Crombie — Liberal Party Marit Stiles — NDP or Mike Schreiner — Green Party I didn't vote for him. I voted for something new. Derek Sloan - Ontario Party. 🟥 Yesterday I was at Service Ontario renewing my health card. I went in, pulled a number to be served, and sat down on the rows of chairs to wait my turn. In front of me, to the right, were two women in their 60s, conversing. One was talking about Doug Ford and how terrible he was lately. After she had listed a litany of his shortcomings, her companion said, “Oh well, you know, Kath – it could be worse. We could have that Danielle Smith.” Kath replied, “Yes. Good Point.” And they laughed. They then started talking about a recipe – something about watermelon and Feta cheese? And shortly afterwards their number was called to be served. I smiled quietly to myself as I thought about their exchange. If the state of our political leadership is that we are RELIEVED to have a bad/corrupt Conservative Premier, because he is at least better than an even WORSE one from another Province, then the Conservative Parties across Canada need a change. 🤷🏻‍♂️ They need to look within themselves. Urgently! 😌 They’ve got to do better. It cannot be an acceptable standard for Conservative political leaders to be arrogant, self-serving miscreants. And don’t even get me started on the FEDERAL Conservatives! That guy lost elections; is polling at 20%; is unable to get security clearance; has no PLAN except to insult, misinform and obstruct progress; his MPs are miserable, with some abandoning him ... and he still won’t resign?? 😄🤦🏻‍♂️

Canadians aren’t struggling because newcomers exist. They’re struggling because wages haven’t kept up with housing, groceries, utilities, and corporate profits for years. And it’s ironic hearing this from Jamil Jivani when his own family immigrated to Canada his father from Kenya and his grandparents from Scotland and Ireland. Blaming immigrants is the oldest political distraction in the book. The real question is: why are ordinary families working harder than ever while billionaires and corporations keep posting record profits?
