Defying the US blockade, activists with @HatueyProject delivered critical supplies — including bed pads, Tylenol, and toothpaste — to the San José Senior Resident Home in Havana, Cuba. The scarcity crisis in Cuba has only been exacerbated by Trump's fuel blockade. Not even the most vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, are immune to its impacts. 🎥 @ldejesusreyes

66 years ago today a memo was written which launched the genocidal blockade of Cuba which continues, intensified, to this day. It was designed “to weaken the economic life of Cuba” & thus “to bring about hunger, desperation and overthrow of government.” #AbajoElBloqueo!

There are approximately 90,000 births per year in Cuba. 6 more deaths per thousand means that the US blockade is killing 540 Cuban babies every year. 😡

One ominous (and genocidal) statistic from the article: “In 2018, the infant mortality rate in Cuba was four per 1,000 births, lower than in the United States. By 2025, that rate had more than doubled, to 10 deaths, almost twice as high as the U.S. figure.”
