IILP Elementary & Secondary OCDSB

Japanese language classes came together to make dumplings, later shared with their parents in the yard. Czech language classes came together to build cardboard robots to learn 3D shape vocabulary. Intermediate Spanish students discussed famous motivational quotes. @IILP_OCDSB

Spanish elementary students performed songs, poems and skits for their families, while Czech language classes made cookies & cards to give to moms and caregivers in their lives. @IILP_OCDSB

In-person school year program ended in June & kinder students painted flowers following instructions in Spanish to celebrate the last day. Our summer program began this week. Here are some of the many virtual language classes offered: Sinhala, Telugu, Arabic. @IILP_OCDSB

Telugu language classes do beautiful crafts including construction paper puppets to tell a story. Grade 7-8 Arabic language classes play games online together. @IILP_OCDSB

Primary/kinder Marathi & Arabic language students learn by playing games together. @IILP_OCDSB

Sinhala language students have fun using graphic organizers to write phonetically, and to order their teacher around using the appropriate verb. Tamil language students use images/discussions to inspire their written sentences. @IILP_OCDSB

Nepali language students create personal visual dictionaries using national symbols. Kindergarten Arabic students use their hands to create letters and practise stroke order. @IILP_OCDSB

Tagalog/Filipino language students are able to independently sing the Shape Song with the help of the images. Persian (Farsi) language students draw and label emotions. Telugu language students work together to do a word search. @IILP_OCDSB

Telugu virtual language classes continue making crafts, and Marathi language classes listen to and discuss stories told in short cartoons @IILP_OCDSB

Malayalam virtual language classes learn about water conservation when watching a music video, and they learn about the Geography of India @IILP_OCDSB

Kindergarten and Grade 1 virtual Arabic language classes learn through games like matchups and gameshows on the word wall website @IILP_OCDSB
