A highly interesting and complex tumor microwave ablation case was successfully performed at HMG – Arrayan Hospital on our Allia IGS 730 system, led by Dr. Naif Alsaikhan @Naif_87 . The procedure involved the percutaneous ablation of a very small liver tumor that was not visible on ultrasound. The lesion was accurately localized using selective hepatic artery angiography with CBCT, demonstrating the value of advanced imaging technologies in addressing challenging clinical scenarios.

I am pleased to share a notable Bone RFA case for a patient diagnosed with osteoid osteoma of the femur, led by Dr. Shagran Binkhamis @sbinkhamis at HMG – Al Takhassusi. The procedure was performed using Allia IGS 730 Pulse system, leveraging Needle ASSIST and 3DCT HD (CBCT) solutions.

Their commitment and teamwork were instrumental in achieving the successful outcome of this procedure.

Dr. Naif Alsaikhan @Naif_87 achieved precise lesion localization by leveraging CBCT (3DCT HD), Liver ASSIST VP, and the Integrated Registration Application. These tools enabled the fusion of the initial selective angiography CBCT used for procedural planning with the final selective angiography CBCT confirming accurate ablation of the tumor. This advanced image fusion approach ensured precise verification that the ablation needle had reached the target lesion, enabling a safe, accurate, and effective treatment.

The first Cath Lab in Sharurah City has been officially inaugurated at Sharurah General Hospital, following its formal launch by His Highness Prince Jalawi bin Musaed, with generous support from businessman Mr. Mutlaq Al-Hanaki. The establishment of the Cath Lab department, equipped with Allia IGS 520 system, marks a significant milestone in advancing specialized healthcare services in Sharurah City and the wider Najran region. This initiative will reduce the need for patient travel, limit referrals to tertiary hospitals, and enhance the timely management of critical cardiac emergencies, ultimately improving patient outcomes and saving lives.

I had the privilege of supporting a complex tumor ablation case at HMG – Arryan involving a lesion located in the intercostal region near the gallbladder. The lesion had been particularly challenging to localize, with previous attempts at other centers unsuccessful, as it was not visible on CT or CBCT imaging and could only be clearly identified on MRI. Dr. Naif Alsaikhan @Naif_87 successfully achieved precise lesion localization by leveraging the Integrated Registration Application to fuse MRI and CBCT images, enabling accurate visualization and needle guidance through the Needle ASSIST application. An artificial pneumoperitoneum was also introduced to safely displace the gallbladder away from the ablation zone. In the images, the ablation zone is labeled in red, the pneumoperitoneum in yellow, and the gallbladder in green.
