Nonsense. We use all of the gas from the North Sea, it makes up half of our supply. Why do you want us to import dirtier gas with four times the emissions? And why do you want us to shut down all our clean nuclear power? What are you some kind of climate denier?

@AndrewBowie_MP CORRECTION - the Conservative Energy Plan will make 'those that have' in Britain richer. Sadly those who have not, will have to continue to make do without. The price oil extracted from the North Sea is benchmarked against Brentcrude, so will have minimal impact on UK fuel bills

@jcartlidgemp How did you ever get elected as an MP? Because Norway decided to be sensible with the asset that Not Sea oil & gas are, it a Sovereign Wealth Fund of $1.6 Trillion which far in a way exceeds their National Debt - so they are extremely well placed financially to fund their defence

How is Norway able to fund such a Defence budget when we aren’t? One factor is they’re still drilling in the North Sea - we buy their fossil fuels from the same basin we deny ourselves the economic benefit from. Madness.

Starmer and Reeves promised not to put up tax. They've broken that promise again and again to pay for welfare. This time it's fuel duty. Under their plan, families will pay nearly £40,000 over their lives. As usual, the hardworking get punished; the non-working get rewarded.

Why can’t Ed Miliband just be honest? He is desparate to shut down the North Sea so he can fly around the world preaching to other countries to do the same. Sacrificing our energy security, jobs, and making us more dependent on dirtier imports for his own moral superiority.

@ReformSecYork @afneil When did Farage change his tune from 'Never trust a Tory' to welcoming Tory failures with open arms and giving Tory defectors senior posts in Reform's party. Changing the colour of the political rosette doesn't stop these people from being significant parts of the problem.

@afneil A vote for Reform in the Local Elections and in the next General Election is the only way change can be achieved and useful improvements made. Both Conservatives and Labour have demonstrated that they are unfit to govern.

The current state of the Royal Navy: 2 aircraft carriers — neither operational. 6 Type 45 destroyers (our most powerful warships) — one operational (in Cyprus). 7 Type 23 frigates (less powerful, much older) — three operational 5 Astute class nuke-powered subs — one operational (in Arabian Sea?). Surely those responsible for this appalling state of unreadiness (a national embarrassment if ever there was one)— political, civilian and military — should be fired/charged. Their incompetence has effectively left us without a navy. Quite an achievement for an ancient island nation.
