This was the actual, official death of Canada. This was the moment we ceased to have any semblance of a country. Don Cherry was a Canadian legend, a household name, someone that every young Canadian grew up watching. He was a professional hockey player, then a coach, but most famously the main personality on Coach's Corner, where he would give commentary on hockey games, mixed in with a few of his own views. He was fired for saying that newcomers to Canada should respect our customs. He spoke brashly and with conviction, as he always did, and he used the phrase "you people" in reference to fresh immigrants, but fundamentally he was fired for trying to enforce adherence to our tradition of honouring our fallen soldiers on Remembrance Day. He suggested that "you people" need to wear poppies as a sign of assimilation, of respect, and of appreciation to the people who sacrificed their lives to build and defend our once great nation. If this man, beloved by so many and for so long, can't ask that Canadian traditions be respected, then no one can. That was the message sent by his firing and humiliation. The government and media wanted all Canadians to know that "we can't expect immigrants to do anything at all when they come here, they must be given free reign to opt out of our society, even as they come here 'for our milk and honey.'" If no one is allowed to defend our culture, then our culture ceases to exist. If we can't hold newcomers to even this most basic standard, wearing a poppy-shaped pin for one day a year, then we can never hope for "assimilation," because there is nothing for anyone to assimilate into. And this is what we have seen since then; newcomers forming their own ethnic enclaves, doing business in their own languages, hiring their own people, bringing their foods and their festivals and their customs with them, never even attempting to understand what Canada is all about. Most don't know a single thing about Canadian history aside from "White people stole the land from natives," and many don't even speak either of our official languages. Why should they? They have their own cultures and enough people to ignore ours. Don Cherry being fired signified the end of any expectation of standards being upheld, and the end of the ability for Canadians to stick up for themselves. Every day since then, multitudes of foreigners have come here, and none of them have ever thought about what it means to be "Canadian," other than to be given a piece of paper from the government. This place and its people have no meaning to them, aside from what we can give them. Unless there are serious changes, and we grow the backbone to stick up for ourselves again, soon, we Canadians will be a minority in our own home, disenfranchised and disempowered, left at the whims of the ungrateful hordes who resent us. This Remembrance Day, wear a poppy with pride, and take note of those who don't. They are not your allies.

@tekkie1975 @pennyworth63000 @dubsndoo Ah yes, PP the puppet. Carney, the central banker who has been groomed by the weirdos at Davos and the Corporation of London, and not to mention personal friends with Ghislaine Maxwell, has no strings on him though.

@DegenApeDev I go through phases. I know it is a severe vice, but it is actually effective in droning out the madness in this country. Quit recently, going to stay off it for at least a few months. It is good to feel anger again.

Then what was even the point of your comment? I bet you think that you're cryptically exposing occulted secrets or something like that, but believe me when I say that I will be arrested for what I've said online before you will be. Either grow a pair and speak plainly, regardless of the "consequences," or don't bother spouting this QAnon tier shit in the first place.

@albertanbeech A decent coffee maker that just uses regular coffee filters and coffee grounds is a game changer. Makes it much easier to drink copious quantities of coffee. Cheaper in the long run too.

@CricketsMatter We were on the path to sovereignty until Churchill threw away the British Empire to get his war with Germany. After that we just became totally dependent on the US, but became bitter about that fact because we want to believe that we're better than them somehow.

But but but... we're going to have gas for our cars and electricity for our AC forever!!! Haven't you ever played Civ? Once you reach a certain level of progression there's no possible way to go backwards!!! You're right, most people are cowards. The country we grew up in is already dead, and everyone can see it, there are only a few brave enough to admit it.

It's almost impossible to explain to people how bad things are going to get, because they refuse to believe it. Its too emotionally traumatic for people to admit the world they knew is gone. It's like all of Canada and much of Alberta are in the denial stage of grief.

There are at least 700 known IRGC operatives in Canada. There are countless Sihks who support the Khalistani terrorist movement, they fly flags and have bumper stickers openly showing support for these groups. Cartels operate with impunity on reservations and are more or less openly supplied with fentanyl precursors from the Chinese government/triads. As for detection, we have been effectively cut out of the loop from the 5 Eyes intelligence groups because they see us (rightly) as being totally compromised by the Chinese and other adversaries. Crime syndicates get busted seemingly every other week and all that comes of it is 3 guys named Singh getting arrested and then getting to walk free the next day on bail.

@InnerCanada @TheWalkingDet @dubsndoo /3 - there's no visible evidence of growth of terror cells. However, we do now have better detection and earlier intervention so it may give the perception that it's more.

If we needed population growth so badly, we would ban women from working and make housing affordable. There is no reason to import a billion Indians to work at Tim Horton's and crash trucks on our highways. Also the debt to GDP ratio is just more lies, we are indebted on every level, federal, provincial, personal.

Ok, how much does a stick of butter cost? How much did it cost before covid? Whatever they say the number is for inflation, it's made up commie gobbledygook. As far as I'm concerned, inflation has been like 100% YoY for years now, because things are many multiples more expensive every year. Whatever the IMF says is also commie gobbledegook, because nothing in our economy is growing. I know several people who have lost jobs and struggled to find new ones for years, that isn't a strong economy. Investment in Canada is rising? Who on earth would invest in Canada? Why would they throw their money away? (The answer is that the government is investing in Canada, which also counts towards GDP growth, despite it all being funded by taxes which take away from the economy)

@InnerCanada @TheWalkingDet @dubsndoo Inflation in 2025 largely stabilized near target. IMF is now projecting us to be the 2nd fastest growing economy in G7 over the next year (rising from 5-7th). Investment in Canada reached its highest annual level in 2025 since 2007, surpassing $1.5T. .../2

They actually had pretty decent free speech laws, the only "speech" that got banned was pornography. They never banned smoking, they just pushed propaganda exposing its health risks. They expanded firearm ownership rights for German citizens, but disarmed foreigners within their borders. They didn't cull the infirmed, but they did sterilize them en masse. Calling the Liberals Nazis is just stupid, they are COMMUNISTS, which is MUCH WORSE.

@JimMcMurtry01 To be fair, they really only have the one name. If every White person named their son Sean, Sean would still be the number one name. That being said, we gotta kick them all out.

@LorraineZiegler @TheWalkingDet @dubsndoo What are we going to lead? Debt to GDP ratios? Indian immigration? Inflation? Tax rates? Number of terror cells and cartels harboured? Citizens killed by their own government? Please tell me one actual thing Carney has improved, these are the only things that are coming to mind.

@InnerCanada @TheWalkingDet @dubsndoo Wow - you've really gone into the misinformation realm hook, line and sinker. Time for you to find out what is actually happening. And honestly, from what I'm seeing Carney is setting Canada up to be a world leader which can only mean a great future for Canadians.

Canada will collapse into several smaller nations, which will be entirely at the whims of the Americans because they'll all be economically dependent on the US. Some might become states and get outright annexed (voluntarily or not), but each will not have the political unity to stand up to the US in any meaningful way. Canada as it stands is totally dependent on the US, if Canada breaks up all the countries that come out of it will be even more helpless.

@LMegaw @dubsndoo Why? Carney is weakening Canada economically, which is good for Trump. And are you talking about Pierre? Because he really didn't support the convoy until his internal polling told him it was safe to do so, he's a bureaucrats who doesn't care for freedom.

@pennyworth63000 @dubsndoo Why would Trump want to help the conservatives? He wants our country to become a failed state so we can be annexed more easily. The Americans won't have to fire a shot to conquer us, they'll just have to keep our lights on for us.

@InnerCanada @dubsndoo Trump's endorsement was a weak attempt to help the conservatives, in a simple-minded "reverse psychology" way. Trump's endorsement would mean NOTHING to a Liberal voter, and could even reduce Carney's chances - but not enough in the end.

Yeah, tons of positive stuff like destroying our economy irreparably and taxing citizens to death to post foreigners and other countries for no benefit to us. Oh, don't forget all the money he's funneling directly into his investment firm, which owns almost exclusively American assets.
