I told malayali colleagues about campus leaders who are now settled in the US & they told me, it was the same for their college party warriors. In some cases, SFI, KSU & ABVP folk are colleagues abroad & share a drink in the weekends. 🙄

Respectfully disagree. Having witnessed the college politics of the 90s in Kerala, a few things from that time : 1. Our engineering courses extended into 5 year programs instead of 4 due to strikes thereby missing a year of studies! 2. A few in the state were killed and many injured...sword hits were not uncommon 3. The students leaders were mere pawns of their political masters 4. Most of the leftists atleast in Engg colleges, wrote the GRE and went to the US:-) Political awareness yes!...without the hard costs we bore in the 80s and 90s!

Came 4m a middle class family, his house is tht old school tharavadu design, had to leave immediately after graduating, 4 work.

The only SFI senior guy I knew made it to the Sub Inspector rank list don’t know if he got in.

One KSU ldr went into event mgmt business(his father already ran another business I think), the KSU college chairman ended up working in logistics in Singapore Port…

One thing is clear. We need campus politics. We need young people to be aware. A young man from Kerala said on a podcast to me that he is thankful his campus had politics. He understands the importance more as he mingles with people from states were campus politics is banned
