It really depends on how good of a cook both of them are. Honestly, it does. For example, my second oldest brother is a trained chef and he does all the cooking at his house and everyone LOVES eating over at their place. The thing he HATES is doing the dishes but his wife gladly does them for his fantastic meals. Now let us take my sorry ass. If you give me a recipe, I will follow it to the letter ... something my older brother views as "just a suggestion" ... which is great as long as there's no silly nonsense like "until golden brown", "season to taste", "a pinch", "saute until semi-soft", and other diabolical terminology meant to torture pure innocent souls like mine. I am fortunate that all the women I've lived with love to cook and were great cooks. And, yes, I have cooked for them and they have ALWAYS praised the food I have laid out for them. You could even say they've marveled at it ... and were always more than willing to help me cook and when I said I'm fine, they sit at the dining table watching me cook with obvious admiration. What is interesting is when my back was turned at times, I'd turn back around and find pots and pans that I left cooking on the burners off them or the burners turned off. And, oddly, they never asked me to cook again. And when they got sick, their friends always brought over food. Why, yes, I did cook for their friends at least once. Why do you ask? 🤨

🇯🇵 I am Japanese. Question for Americans. At what age did you realize the American Dream doesn’t come with an instruction manual?

First, a lot of Americans don't have passports. Part of the reasons for this is how big America is that you don't need to go to another country to experience something unlike anything you have locally. From the Grand Canyon to Louisianian swamps to New York City to Las Vegas to the Rockies. Second, Americans typically want to first visit the country their ancestors were from, no matter how many generations back. I myself am a seventh-generation American Third, Americans tend to want to go where people speak English thus why we tend to go more often to Canada (most of all), UK, Australia, New Zealand, and even India more than Nippon. Fourth, Nippon doesn't really advertise visiting your country in America so it isn't on our radar NOR is there a hit TV show or movie based in Nippon that would spark interest in visiting it.
