The answer is effectively never but adjusted for inflation, there are comparable examples in the 90s and 80s.
My point: a great number of people have seen these movies, more than usual, and the fan bases are fervent. I’m curious if that translates to more audience for the show.

When was the last time the two films in a legitimate race for Best Picture both earned more than $200 million at the box office before nominations were announced? 2011 with THE SOCIAL NETWORK and THE KING’S SPEECH? I’m not sure if the latter crossed that threshold ahead of time.

Vectors where heavy regulation is needed when it comes to PE: healthcare, energy, education, childcare, and corrections. None of these industries need the benefits of financial engineering. They need to help make society better. something not used in valuation multiples.
