THE SUPREME COURT'S BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP HEARING
I've been working on a few exciting projects (for the future), but here's my quick take: This is actually a very simple case but made messy for the justices. 90% of the time the justices spent asking questions/making statements that had absolutely no relevance to the 14th amendment but were result-oriented attempts at justifying birthright citizenship. There were comments about administration, policy, English common law, etc. But anyone who can read and comprehend the civil rights act in 1866 that preceded the amendment, the debates surrounding the act, and the subsequent draft and debate around the 14th amendment would know full well that the amendment never -- in any way -- contemplated granting birthright citizenship to foreigners, let alone illegal aliens. It would have been unimaginable. In fact, it was not intended to be an immigration amendment. It was passed by Congress and ratified by the states to enshrine in the Constitution and across all states the treatment of newly freed slaves and their children as citizens after the Civil War, and because certain states refused to acknowledge their citizenship. Indeed, President Andrew Johnson had vetoed the Civil Rights Act of 1866, his veto was overridden, but that was the impetus for the constitutional amendment.
The language -- "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" -- had a specific meaning and intent. As explained years ago by me and others, this refers to the political allegiance to the United States and is derived from the 1866 Civil Rights Act, which extended citizenship to the freed slaves and their children. Again, to underscore, it had nothing to do with immigration at all. Therefore, foreigners who come into the United States illegally cannot confer upon themselves "jurisdiction" for the purposes of granting citizenship to their babies because they were born in our country.

@VonFustercluck @The_Sublimatory @bazzdgrogan @greg_price11 Historically, courts have considered jurisdiction as a form of allegiance. We have the SCOTUS to decide.
English

@JenniferStrby @The_Sublimatory @bazzdgrogan @greg_price11 You're entitled to that opinion, but it's not what the 14th Amendment says. The Court's job is to consider the Amendment as written, not as you'd like it to be written.

If people driving fast is a problem, why not just put signs on the side of the road that say how fast people are allowed to go?

It seems if birth tourism is really your concern a simple fix is to deny visas to pregnant women, and make Visas revocable if a woman becomes pregnant. If that’s your concern.

@bennyjohnson The fact you would criticize anyone else about "lying to the base" is beyond embarrassing.
You're quite literally one of the biggest lying frauds in all of political commentary.

@DisrespectedThe Both survive. The white liberal woman will be making the men sandwiches when it’s all said and done.
And the white liberal men will do whatever the lady tells them to do.

At the end of the day, @PamBondi didn’t meet all of President Trump’s expectations as US Attorney General, but she is nonetheless a nice person and I do believe her heart is in the right place, even if we didn’t see as many arrests as we wanted and even though she fumbled the Epstein Files release.
Pam Bondi made a lot of money before she became US AG and still took the time to uproot her very comfortable life in Florida where she was making way more money than she made in DC before she moved to our nation’s Capitol to serve the President.
As someone who has been highly critical of Pam Bondi is the past, I can also admit Pam made sacrifices to serve President Trump, which we can be grateful for.
Here is a list of Pam Bondi’s key accomplishments and major actions as U.S. Attorney General from February 2025 – April 2026 that I compiled. I am grateful to Pam Bondi for these accomplishments, even though I have felt incredibly under stimulated by the Trump DOJ for the last year.
🚨 Led aggressive fentanyl and opioid enforcement: Bondi oversaw large-scale seizures of fentanyl (including over 22 million pills and thousands of kilograms in early months) which prevented millions of overdose deaths.
🚨 Strengthened immigration enforcement: Bondi directed the DOJ to use all available criminal statutes against illegal immigration, pursued harsher penalties for crimes committed by illegal aliens, and supported deportation operations in coordination with foreign governments.
🚨 Established Joint Task Force October 7 (JTF 10-7): Bondi created a dedicated task force at the DOJ to prosecute perpetrators of the October 7, 2023 Hamas Islamic terror attacks, target Hamas leadership/financiers, and address support for Iranian proxies who operate on US soil.
🚨 Issued major policy directives: Bondi signed approximately 14 memos aligning DOJ priorities, including eliminating DEI programs, reviving the federal death penalty, reviewing prior Trump-related cases, and creating a task force on the weaponization of the DOJ.
🚨 Reformed DOJ personnel and structure: Bondi conducted reviews and reassignments of prosecutors involved in January 6th and Trump-related investigations, and she dismissed and modified certain Biden-era lawsuits and initiatives that were established as a way to weaponize the government against Trump supporters.
🚨 Combated antisemitism: Bondi launched federal initiatives and a task force to address antisemitism, particularly on college campuses.
🚨 Supported additional crime-reduction efforts: Bondi backed temporary federal involvement in Washington, D.C. policing to make DC safer and clean up crime.
🚨 Cracked Down On Men In Women’s Sports: Bondi threatened legal action over transgender participation in women’s sports.
Bondi, like all of us isn’t perfect. Her handling of the Epstein Files has been unfortunate and chaotic, and many would say it was a disaster, myself included. They wouldn’t be wrong about that.
However, Epstein and the lack of arrests and prosecutions aside, Bondi did many good things as AG that we can acknowledge as we wait to see who President Trump appoints as his next Attorney General. Many say it will be @LeeMZeldin Lee Zeldin.
Thank you for your service to our country, @PamBondi.
Hopefully, this chaos at the DOJ can be resolved soon so we can return to focusing on winning the midterms and delivering accountability and enforcement at the DOJ.

I don’t agree with the special laws/rules for foreign diplomats.
However, the discussion is about birthright citizenship. An illegal having a child on US soil should not automatically be a US citizen. If the parent is not a legal citizen, the children should be considered a citizen of the country of origin of the parents.
English

@JenniferStrby @The_Sublimatory @bazzdgrogan @greg_price11 But a foreign diplomat who commits a crime in the United States can only be sent home--they can't be prosecuted here because they aren't subject to US jurisdiction.
