It was great to see President Shawn Fain, LG Garlin Gilchrist, and Sheriff Chris Swanson, out to support Local 2093 as their contract negotiations with American Axle get started this month!

Thousands in Kalamazoo and surrounding areas came to be voices for change in the No Kings protest. Poignant signs, cutting humor and timeless chants were harmonized with honking of supporters driving by. We are what make America great. Again and again.

I got to "touch grass" this morning by helping the Michigan Waterways Stewards clear out the invasive brush and vines from around the River. I can't wait to see what the riverfront looks like once it's returned to its natural beauty.

Five years ago today, armed protesters attacked the U.S. Capitol. I had friends and former colleagues - both police and civilians - in the building that day. There was nothing peaceful about it. We cannot normalize this. We must continue to fight for the rule of law.
