Oh yeh! It’s gotta go. Points altogether can go. Just stick to wins and losses. The point system as is, is also a barrier to entry for new fans - confusing/hard to explain/silly.

Loser points are the plague of the NHL, particularly in divisional games. One point for an OT or SO loss is having a significant effect in the Pacific. Vegas won in OT in LA. It was Kings 11th loser point. Vegas leads division primarily because of 12 loser points.
