During Congress years, senior bureaucrats sent by GOI to the UN openly made fun of the Congress for not having any policy on #Kashmir. This was recently revealed by an eminent gentleman who had gone to the UN. On the contrary, the #Modi government policy on Kashmir is clear-headed and is spelt out in action. It has transformed Kashmir. Here is the text of the post attached below. "During a chance encounter quite some years ago in the UN in Geneva with a high ranking Indian bureaucrat, while discussing Kashmir, Indo-Pak and Geopolitics, I said to him; "Sir, with all due respect, I think Delhi's Kashmir policy needs some changes...[here]...and [there].... [This]...can be done more and... [that]... should be done less... There is a need for [this] and [that] needs to be revisited etc etc." He started laughing, almost hysterically, for about a minute. Perhaps a few seconds less or a bit more. I was surprised, especially as this was - to my mind - quite unflattering behaviour of a high-ranking diplomat sitting in the Serpent Bar of the UN. When he caught his breath, I asked; "Forgive my ignorance, but could you please explain the joke to me as well. I could use a good laugh as these Sessions of the UN are always very stressful." He said, while he kept laughing: "My apologies, Sir. Please don't get me wrong Qureshi Sahib, I just laughed as I find it extremely funny that someone with your expertise and intellect still thinks that Delhi actually HAS a policy on Kashmir".
