@CanadaGray Lower flows, stressed reservoirs. Our infrastructure wasn't built for this reality. Water security and agriculture at real risk. 🌊⚠️

DC bike lanes are great for MD & VA residents commuting into downtown. ✅ Fewer cars in front of you. ✅ Makes @bikeshare more appealing for the midday short trips, so you don't have to mess around with parking.

Today, speaking at @SocialEnt_UK's Social Value Leaders Summit on The Common Good Economy-a framework for understanding what 'good' looks like in economics. To maximise the creation of public value, you need to define what 'good' looks like. A topic neoclassical economics has struggled to do convincingly. The book provides five compass points as preconditions: purpose and directionality, co-creation and participation, collective learning and knowledge sharing, access for all and reward sharing, transparency and accountability. My House and My Chicken Coup - Not Much Difference On my Farm in Bagan, Burma, there are not many connections to the modern world: no power, gas, running water, machines, etc. The valley I am in has been continuously farmed for 3,000 years, with just what is there…..and I did not add anything modern. Our houses are made of the materials and knowledge we have around us, our water comes from the great Irrawaddy River, and our lives follow the same rhythms that have always been. The rhythms of living on earth. In these photos you can see that my hut, my chicken coup, and all the other structures are made of the same natural materials we harvested from our own valley: palm leaves, bamboo, round timber, and we make our own rope. 3,000 years of people making structures in this valley, and not a trace left. When we leave, we won’t leave a trace either. Pic #1 - my huts Pic #2 - chicken coup Pic #3 - overview of the farm Pic #4 - on the Irrawaddy River

Price of fuel, farm inputs, logistics and other things are high now but the price of farm produce is crashing because there's too much supply at the moment ✌️🌽🫑🥒

Ok - a question for my digital ag friends: What is a key skills gap that you see in farmers when it comes to ag tech/digital comms that is a barrier to adoption & ongoing use? #ausag #agchatoz

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 The Colorado River supplies water to 40 million people across the West—but that system is under increasing strain. Water reuse, infrastructure investment, and regional collaboration are no longer optional. They’re essential. This article highlights how leaders, including SCWC Board Secretary Donna Bloom-Crook of PCL Construction, are helping shape solutions for a more resilient water future.
