California has 12% of the US population and only 2% of the US Senators. Our government is heavily weighted in representation toward the states with smaller populations. We need to start a movement toward equal representation so every person’s vote carries equal influence in our democracy.

I appreciate the contribution of the of the rural red states but that doesn’t mean their votes are more important per person than the heavily populated areas. Each vote should count the same regardless of the amount of acreage you own. Without the big cities who is going to develop the technology that fuels progress and growth?
