Committee Chair, Lord Arbuthnot of Edrom: ‘The government accepts, at least in principle, the vast majority of our report…In the light of the tragedies of COVID-19 and Ukraine, there is a strong appetite in the country for being better prepared. We must not waste our chance.’

The government has accepted, in full or in principle, the majority of the Risk Assessment and Risk Planning Committee’s recommendations made in our December report. The Cabinet Office has now committed to changing the way risk assessment and planning is conducted.
