Monarch Company presents “Unhappily Ever After" at the John Marshall High School CPA this weekend. Friday, March 27 at 7:00 PM Saturday, March 28 at 7:00 PM Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 PM Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. A @MCSWV Activity Pass will be accepted.

Industry leaders spoke with CTE students, juniors and graduating seniors from Cameron and John Marshall high schools, about opportunities within their companies during the Marshall County CTE Fair. Internships and apprenticeships were also discussed with the students.

Ten students from Marshall County Schools scored a 100% at the Northern Region West Virginia Social Studies Fair held on Thursday at the John Marshall Field House.

The CHS Queen of Queens Pageant is this Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 3:00 pm, in the school’s auditorium. The pageant will feature four senior girls competing for the crown. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door. A Marshall County Schools Activity Pass gets free admission.

Kathleen Fox, Glen Dale Elementary General Music and Vocal Music teacher, is the newest member of the WVMEA Hall of Fame. She's recognized for developing outstanding music programs, making significant contributions to music education and having a minimum of 15 years of service.

The JMHS Steel Drum Band will host its annual Festival of Steel in the school’s gymnasium this Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1 pm. Proceeds will be donated to Paws for a Cause and Hearts for Park. Admission will be collected at the door. Marshall County passes will be honored.

The CFWV has applauded Cameron High School for the incredible jump in this year’s student FAFSA completion at 63.6%. This is up from last year’s rate of 43.6%. Here’s how the gains were made: facebook.com/collegeforwv.

Moundsville Middle School Students of the Month for February are Kasey Little (6), Memphis Blake (7), Maci Coulson (8) and Dalton Earnest (8). These students are of good standing in grades and behavior. They were nominated, and then voted on by the MMS faculty.

The West Virginia All-State Children's Chorus included students from Cameron Elementary School, Central Elementary School, Glen Dale Elementary School, Hilltop Elementary School, Washington Lands Elementary School, Moundsville Middle School and Sherrard Middle School.

The @MCSWV community outreach program LOOK presents “Digital Dopamine: Exploring the Impact of Technology on the Mental Health of Young People,” featuring Dr. Jim Harris, this Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm, in the JM CPA. It’s free and open to the public.

Cameron High School students Kennedi Lilley and Jesse Richmond along with John Marshall High School students Landon Potts and Allison Ryan represented Marshall County Schools as members of the WVMEA All-State High School Chorus at the annual WVMEA In-Service Conference.

Nine students from the Marshall County Strings Program, one from Sherrard Middle School and eight from John Marshall High School, participated in the annual West Virginia All-State Orchestras at the WVMEA Music Conference.

National School Breakfast Week helped highlight the importance of starting the day with a healthy school breakfast to fuel learning, focus, and success in the classroom. Thank you, to our hardworking child nutrition staff for making breakfast a great start to every school day.

Tracey Filben, Director of Bands at John Marshall High School, is the recipient of the 2026 Wheeling Symphony Orchestra Music Educator Excellence Award. She will be honored at the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s March Masterworks concert, Her Voice, on Friday, March 20, 2026.
