I wrote this column 2 years ago after the UIL went to the split-division playoff format. I said the UIL diluted its best product in the name of handing out more trophies. However, I also think it’s really cool that West Brook and Bmt United can both win state titles this season. There’s good and bad with every decision, I guess.
