My new company, Max Rangeley & Partners, is getting focused on political and economic policy as well as helping startups. This afternoon I'll be presenting with Lord Fairfax, with whom I recently finished a book on AI, to forty think tanks on how we can help develop AI policy.

I recently gave this speech in Vienna, talking through Europe's lack of a robotics industry compared to the US and China, and the disastrous consequences of this in the event of a major conflict. I hope Europe can get its act together. youtu.be/wLeYZgibk4I

Whilst I enjoy travelling, I'm always happy to return home to Devon - frequently voted the most beautiful and best place to live in Britain. All these places are 20 mins walk from my house....natural swimming spots, restaurants, art galleries and parks overlooking the sea!

Tirana is one of the most fun places I've given a lecture recently - excellent dinners, cool city and very friendly people. We often receive gifts as guest lecturers at universities, think tanks etc, and the hand-painted Albanian plate is one of my favourite gifts so far!

I'm in Tirana for a few days, on Friday I'm giving a speech on artificial intelligence at the main university business school here.  I like Albania already! I have a couple of friends who talked about buying houses by the sea here.  The Albanian flag is pretty cool tbh.

Every time I've been to Vienna I've gone to the Kunst Historisches Museum, it's one of my favourite museums in the world.

Today I'm giving a speech in Budapest "Is the West in Civilisational Decline?" I'll talk through different theories of the rise and fall of civilisations, from Oswald Spengler, Arnold Toynbee, Ibn Khaldun and others, and what we can learn from each of them.

About to see Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito in the Vienna state opera house.  I'm grateful to one of my co-lecturers for buying us both tickets at the last minute! I love this opera, about betrayal and forgiveness in Ancient Rome.

Today I gave a lecture in Vienna on the AI arms race and the future of conflict. We are on the verge of the mass production of robots - but where is the European robotics industry? Of the top 25 tech companies in the world only one is European - Deutsche Telekom.

This evening I'm on a panel discussion at the Hungarian Embassy in London for the launch of Professor Zoltán Cséfalvay's new book on emerging technologies. Zoltán was previously Minister for Economic Strategy in Hungary and is definitely smart when it comes to technology.

One of my favourite opera houses I went to in recent years was in Mexico City - easily as beautiful as in Vienna, Paris or Prague. I saw Schubert's 9th symphony.  In most European cities, the most beautiful buildings are the cathedral and the opera house - also in Mexico City.

Getting ready to give a speech at Oxford University on the future of war in the age of robotics and AI. My co-speakers are Lord Fairfax, with whom I recently produced a book on AI, and Colonel Grégoire de La Bernardie, from the French army, one of the foremost experts.

Next Wednesday I'm giving a speech at Oxford University for the first time in a couple of years. My last talks were on blockchain, then AI - this time I'll be speaking about the changing nature of warfare in the age of AI and robotics.

I had a good couple of days in London: 1. Gave a speech at the Institute of Economic Affairs with Steve Baker 2. Meeting in the House of Lords on AI and robotics in warfare 3. A few hours in the Ancient Greece section of the British Museum, with Homer, Hesiod and the gang.

In the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade, which I had the pleasure of visiting last year, the interior has mosaics depicting the celestial hierarchy, with the levels of angels, seraphim etc.  P-Dionysus's celestial hierarchy was also used by Dante when he wrote The Divine Comedy
