I've been saying this for years. The reason public art is so ugly now is it's meant to erode your pride in your community and culture so those in power can reshape it with minimal resistance.

I hope that with this, gamers finally understand how harmful it is to beg for remakes or remasters of a game, to think that games from 10 years ago need to be “fixed,” and that their graphics are the result of limitations rather than theme and artistic intent
