Thomas Partey didn't help Arsenal win any major silverware during his time at the club. On the other side, Zubimendi is a generational talent. A true midfield maestro who brings composure, intelligence, and control to the game like few others in his position. He also rejected offer from like Real Madrid and Liverpool to commit to Arsenal, choosing the project under Mikel Arteta. Let's stop disrespecting Martin Zubimendi just because of fondness for the former player.

Arteta is a slow learner; he is stuck in his ways, would never try something different from what he think he knows, and has ultimately stalled the development of this player. Reminds me of 2022/2023 when fans kept asking for him to play Kiwor when Saliba went down; he kept playing Holding until we dropped points and it became too late to catch City.

Arteta’s underutilization of this caliber of talent is the biggest disappointment of the season. One of the most press-resistant midfielders in the Premier League, he can carry, he can pass. He essentially solves Arsenal’s buildup issues in midfield.

Why are we obsessed with appearing valuable than actually creating values? If you can get a car, do get one so your mobility is made easy. It is not to impress strangers. Car is for convenience. I don’t mind not having a car. If we had a good train and bus system, a car would be grossly unnecessary. So many cars on the road is a reflection of a bad transportation network. Having said that, if you put your validation in other people’s hands, you’ll keep going back to them for it. What happens the day your car breaks down? You won’t go out again because you can’t impress strangers? This also happens on social media. You post a picture and you’re desperate for validation - did they comment on my picture? Did they like my picture? Are they fawning over me? Is my ass right? Are my breasts puffed? Are they feeling the boy? That is why when you don’t get the compliments you’re looking for, you fall into depression. Same thing happening with the car, you want to park in front and wind down in traffic so everyone can know you own the car. Do you actually do anything for your own satisfaction? If people don’t validate you, can you experience bliss? That is why Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4, that if you drink from this water, you’ll thirst again. If you keep posting pictures for validation, you’ll thirst again for people’s validation. If you drive car only for others to validate, you’ll thirst again for their validation. Inner peace and satisfaction is not loud. There is a vacuum in life only God can fill. Stop putting your validation in other people’s hand. Love, Peace, and Spaghetti 🍷

The lack of solutions yesterday from Arteta with this one specific issue was bad. Arsenal played 19 progressive passes against Man City's 181. All the possession between the CBs + GK with no answer for the zonal high press of Man City. Haaland & Cherki's role were simple; prevent Rice/Zubimendi from receiving the ball behind the forward line whilst also covering off angles from CBs + GK. Doku & Semenyo's roles were similar, curve the ball back towards the goalkeeper from the CBs + retreat when needed if the ball was clipped over to the FBs. Bernardo & Rodri's role; more complex. Remaining in this zonal position with metres between them and Rice & Zubimendi was risky but very effective. When they remained just in front of the back-line they made it a 6v4 which was favourable for first/second balls when Arsenal had no answer and resorted to long balls. This exact pattern lost Arsenal almost every single possession of note, it even lost them the ball for the second City goal. An overload in the first phase with no idea how to use it. Not panic stations by any means but a very poor reflection on Arteta given the length of time this issue was prominent for throughout the game.
