Male Vtubers could definitely be super successful. I mean just look at BTS or Love and Deepspace, girlies do NOT mess around for their male idols. Hate to say it but... Fan service is really important for both girls and guys, there's a reason why abs get a lot of views

This idea that male vtubers have to pivot into becoming ASMR boyfriend simulators to be successful is just algorithm-brained nonsense.
Not everyone wants to perform intimacy for strangers like it's a subscription service. Some of us actually build communities instead of milking loneliness for engagement.
I'm not 'afraid' of fanservice, I just don't need to turn myself into a product to be worth watching.

I think the issue is male Vtubers don't know how to lean into their demographics. They'd probably be more popular if they leaned into doing more fanservice-y content, but it seems like many are afraid to. The most popular male Vtubers do ASMR and dote on their audiences.

Sunk Cost Fallacy only makes sense for Gachas if you only play them for the Gambling and not for the game itself.
