As an example, it's hard to believe the same trade concept wasn't available to the Lakers for Kessler back at last deadline. If you make that deal then, you'd have bird rights on Kessler, as well as LeBron or Rui. That lack of forward thinking just keeps biting Pelinka.

I know Rui had his quirks on the defensive side but I would have loved to have him back.
