Update IV: In the name of Allah SWT, the most Compassionate, the most Merciful. I have released the sum of 10 million naira for the Phase II of our Kaduna State University Scholarship Initiative for students from low income households. The general public will recall that I had earmarked the sum of 12 million naira for Phase I of this initiative before I was sworn in the 10th House. The scholarship, as with all our scholarship funds has a name behind it. It is the ‘Bashir El-Rufai Scholarship Fund’, named after our family patriarch. The initiative will be finalised by next week. My team will work closely with the management of KASU to ensure a swift and transparent process. Below are the list of the ad hoc committee members and their terms of reference. Terms of Reference 1. No committee member can add his family member as a beneficiary. That can be sorted privately. It is also unethical. 2. There must be a minimum of 20 women as beneficiaries. Higher is accepted. But minimum must be 20. 3. There must be a minimum of 20 beneficiaries from the Christian Community of Kaduna North. Higher is accepted. But minimum be 20. 4. There must be a minimum of 10 from the community of People With Special Abilities or PWDs as some say. N:B: If you have messaged me privately seeking support on KASU before this post. Please forward the message privately again to prove that you had made the request. Another option is to reach out to anyone below. I will do my best privately so the committee can do their work independently.
