Now wearing No. 12 for Utah, Simmons has gone from Coast standout to multi-stop college grinder: a Power-5 signee at Ole Miss, a breakout year at Southern Miss, and now a trusted target in the Utes’ receiver room. At Moss Point, Simmons was that dude — over 2,600 receiving yards and 82 touchdowns, plus another 700+ rushing yards and 13 scores for the Tigers, earning all-state honors and a spot in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game. Utah down 47–35 in the 4th, season on the line. With 2:47 left, Devon Dampier dropped a 20-yard strike to Simmons in the back of the end zone to cut it to 47–44 and spark a wild comeback in a 51–47 Utes win.
