S1 had our final lesson on 'Healthy living-what does this look like in Port Glasgow?' With the sun out, we took our step counters out for a few tests..and some funny 🚶‍♂️ 🚶‍♀️@microbit_edu @SSHSICT @StStephensHS

This week 12th to 16th of May, classes over the school are asking 'Healthy living-what does this look like in Port Glasgow?' My S1 looked at the use of digital tech-benefits(e.g. lots of information)and negatives (e.g too much screen time) to make a fact file next a Step counter!

And so it is...been a great time working with S4, who have now got the top 6 sorted and reward given today. Our 'performance pizza' challenge was completed and now hopefully all gain the marks we hope for tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the last day before our exam! 🥶 We have looked at Web Development and covered Software Development constructs and designs...tomorrow we complete CS and finish our fun St Mirren themed 'Can you be top 6' Computing questions!!!🔥🔥🔥Then we have our Masterclass!😅

An informative but fun Easter study session, working from simple response questions to approaches to coding questions...with some sugar to sweeten the deal (healthy snack?!)

S4's turn now, who had managed to secure enough(just) high scores in Achieve, Tests or Homework to secure a small end of term treat..well done! Then played it cool with Vanilla Ice to start our 'singing section' ... can we improve it again as it gets more difficult next term?!?!

With the last S2 class of the week our S2 girls belted out that 🎵Girls just wanna have fun🎶 to which, unfortunately, I had🎵 No Good Advice🎵 ...@cafsshs would be mildly impressed!

S4 worked on revision and then some mini assessments covering 90 marks using @hashtag_achieve. Productive end to the week and the start of our journey to prelims!🥶 @SSHSICT @DigiLearnScot

Thanks to The National Robotarium for showing pupils 'Spot'. :-Top question was price and ....At around £150k he might not be on the Christmas list yet!!! @SSHSICT @NRobotarium

This afternoon it was the turn of S3 and S4 working with The National Robotarium! In a *hotly* contested race...Two groups were able to code the Robot to get and place all 3 blocks-Well done team LC, LM, AB and team JA, DM! @SSHSICT @NRobotarium

Today we welcome the National Robotarium, working with S2-S5. First 2.3 learning about different uses, sensors and then controlling as part of two challenges! 2.3 got most of the blocks and scored some goals!

With another Games Development class underway, we had class competitions in retro games before the Sept and October holidays. First a Parachute jump game, second was virtual bowling. AW was the winner of the 'Jump' game and KC won our virtual bowling! VERY high scores from both!

Anyone who got one a bbc microbit, please: 1. How do I turn it off or disconnect batteries without breaking it?! 2. What are the random black bits for- assuming some sort of protection? 3. Does it store the info? How do you cope with multiple classes using it? @microbit_edu
