Twelve Muslim women just lost their teaching jobs in Quebec because Bill 94 bans all hijabs in public schools.
We are going to court for that.
When asked about this, Quebec lawmaker Bernard Drainville blamed the women themselves.
All because they want to keep their religious identities and faith practices.
This isn’t about “secularism” anymore. It is about the government destroying personal freedoms.
We will keep fighting this fight, in court and beyond.
We are determined to win.

On January 29th, 2017 congregants took their steps into the Quebec City Mosque as they came for evening prayer. As they stood on the green carpet the gunman took his steps toward the mosque, shooting and killing 6 men and injuring many more. Many in the Muslim community lost their footing that day. The years have gone by but we will never stop stepping forward.
But we need your help.

This January 29th will be the eight anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting which took away six of our brother, while injuring many others.
This January 29th is also the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia in Canada.
We want to thank Mayor @patrickbrownont of the City of Brampton, along with Imam Imran Ally of TARIC Islamic Centre, for joining the NCCM team in recognizing this day.
Action starts with remembrance.
Together, we continue the fight against violent Islamophobia.

Just three years after the terror attack that took the lives of Our London Family, we find ourselves in a frustrating yet familiar place.
A residence standing up for Palestinian human rights was repeatedly threatened and damaged before being set ablaze in what authorities are calling an act of arson.
Three years later, we still have to renew our calls for leaders to step up and address Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism.
This kind of hate kills. We are beyond anguish. We are beyond words.
We want action. Now.

This is incredibly scary. The Quebec mosque shooting made Muslims fearful of visiting their houses of worship. I still feel a tinge of fear whenever I visit a mosque. Our children deserve to feel safe where they play and pray.

Here is an official statement from the Hamilton Downtown Mosque community, where an intruder entered the mosque last Friday afternoon, at the time of a grade 3 gym class, and uttered Islamophobic and racist slurs at students. This is completely outrageous and unacceptable. We expect every political leader to raise their voice in solidarity and a commitment to take action - now, before more folks get hurt.
