Warning: Wall of text ahead: 17th August, 2025; Mica Team Offline Meeting Minutes: Source: gf2-bbs.exiliumgf.com/threadInfo?id=… Background: This user is a reputable member of the official CN forums. A refresher of the NDA given to the attendees, this IS allowed within the NDA's terms: ※ Since this offline meeting will be held within Mica Team's company premises, **any information about the meeting OUTSIDE of its content must remain confidential** (e.g., other company projects under development, internal operation matters, etc.). All attending Commanders will be required to sign an NDA on site. We ask for your understanding and cooperation. --- ## 1. Outfit Banner Q1: Outfit & Themed Furniture prices are too high, many players (including low-spenders and F2P) feel prices are excessive. We hope the devs can provide a free-to-play path, even if the process is very long, at least to give us something to look forward to. A1: More ways to obtain [Outfit Access Permissions] will be added. Even F2P or light spenders should be able to obtain these outfits. Furniture and Big Dorm interactions will also have free acquisition methods; they are planned to be obtained through events. Q2: The gacha experience is really bad, especially for unlucky ones who still lacked enough [Trajectory Tokens] even after reaching hard pity. The cost for unlucky players is way too high. A2: More useful items will be added into the future outfit banners. Devs promised that it will be ensured that in the future, there won’t be situations where even after hitting pity there still aren’t enough [Trajectory Tokens] for exchange. Efforts will be made to improve unlucky players’ experience. Q3: Will old outfits get the Big Dorm interactions later? A3: No. Situations like Makiatto's retroactively added interaction will not happen again. Old outfits won’t receive added content. Interactions/effects/ultimate animations will strictly match their pricing tier. Q4: There's too little information available on this outfit banner system, and players are afraid there will be many expensive skins like 416’s. A4: Only major patch updates will feature such outfits. To be frank, our production capacity also does not support producing so many of such frequent high-interaction outfits. Q5: I want Andoris' outfit, but I'm forced to pull enough [Trajectory Tokens] to exchange for it... A5: Purple-rarity outfits will be able to be purchased directly. If you've bought it and pulled a dupe via the gacha, it'll be converted into [Trajectory Tokens]. --- ## 2. Crew Deck Q1: Many Dolls (including the Commander) look too stiff, using shared animations, and have very little expression change. A1: Due to performance concerns, and in order to display more Dolls at one time, they are currently using shared animations. Although many animations have been made, they are extremely buggy. So the decision was made to first show a stable basic framework, and later gradually add more interactions. For now, stability is prioritized. ※Hot Springs & Swimming Pool are major dev focuses. Swimming outfit for Commander is being considered. ※Future plan: players may be able to directly control Dolls, experiencing interaction from a Doll’s perspective—though probably not in full first-person view. Q2: The [Crew Deck] and the main gameplay feels disconnected. A2: The dev team hopes the [Crew Deck], story, and gameplay will form a triangular loop. Plans include adding story cutscenes into the [Crew Deck], sandbox-like exploration with Dolls, etc. The hope is to make the [Crew Deck] feel like the Dolls' home, a big family emphasizing mutual reliance and companionship. ※The Oath system also has similar "fight together" segments, but the presentation is poor. Improvement on this part of the experience is under consideration. ※Story presented through the [Crew Deck] is temporarily called "mini-stories." Through these, immersion in event stories can be strengthened, while also granting free furniture, Big Dorm interactions, etc. ※Plans also exist for adding dynamic weather or other random elements, where meeting specific conditions may trigger exclusive stories for some Dolls. Q3: Is there consideration for producing resources via the [Crew Deck]? A3: You might have noticed that the Drone Room remains unused. This will be revealed in the near future, stay tuned. Q4: In the trailers, the Elmo was shown to have four floors, a large number of moveable spaces. However, only a small portion of the shown space is used at this time. Is the original plan still being followed? A4: This relates to later plans and cannot be fully disclosed, but yes, the Elmo will still be as large as originally planned. Q5: The food buffs are too weak! Most food items are barely worth it. A5: More "eating" interaction performance effects will be added. The buffs of the food/drinks will be improved, though the mainstream stat will still be Attack. Plans exist to add other stats as options, instead of brainlessly choosing attack. Q6: The piano cannot be interacted with, the bike cannot be ridden on A6: Considering giving the Commander the ability to play the piano. Riding a motorcycle indoors is a bit too much, so not considered. Q7: The monetization of the game is through the roof, there's character banners, weapon banners, and now outfit banners and furniture. A7: We've noted your concerns and we'll discuss this further offline. By the way, we'll increase the number of free methods to get furniture and themed furniture in the future. Q8: There's no toilet on the Elmo A8: Oops, we've not thought about that. (Players joked: The Commander & Mayling still need toilets, and so will guests like Kyruger or the Big Orange Cat!) --- ## 3. Gameplay & Combat Q1: Some players complain that the game is too easy and there's nothing to do, while others complain that the game is too difficult and they can't beat it. How do you plan to balance the difficulty? Is anime strategy games not welcome? A1: Anime is kinda of a cultural symbol, and it doesn't conflict with the gameplay. The reason of releasing “Wheelchair characters” (like AK-15) is to take care of the casual players or players that only want to appreciate it as a "electronic-bonsai". Game modes with hard difficulties, such as EX mode and 40-star difficulty modes are for the hardcore players. Although it is not easy to balance them, the choice should be left to the players. Q2: Stat weighting changes? A2: Will consider releasing characters that don't just use Atk/Atk%/Crit-Rate, and use other less-valued stats. Springfield is an example. ※Note, this does not mean Atk/Atk%/Crit-Rate won't be needed in the future Q3: AK-15 is way too overtuned! Although 416 before her was already outrageous, AK-15 is even more so! What's next? A3: Releasing "wheelchair characters" is mainly to give casual players an easier time. From a story perspective, AK-15’s current strength is justified. But we've noted your concerns, we'll plan to adjust other characters so that everyone’s actual battle performance becomes more balanced. Q4: AK-15 ruined PvP A4: (Answer missing in meeting minutes, need assistance to backfill) Q5: Many of the characters released recently are popular characters from GFL1. Once the popular GFL1 characters are all released, what will happen next? Original new characters? A5: Creating new characters and making everyone like them is something a qualified writer and dev team should be able to do. After all, GFL2 is the second game in the GFL series; relying only on old/returning characters to cash in on nostalgia won’t work. Strength, story, ideas, structure, tension—being able to create new characters that players can come to love is key. At the same time, giving old characters new life and a “second spring” is also something everyone likes, since we’ve built feelings for them over so many years (laughs). Q6: I like a very niche character and fear that my favorite won’t ever appear, or will be delayed indefinitely due to unpopularity. A6: Similar to the Drone Room mentioned earlier, there will be additions like Support Echelons, Fire Support Echelons, etc. Units that don’t directly participate in battle but can positively affect it. This way, less popular or characters not featured in the main story can be obtained for free. But introducing this system may impact the current gameplay framework, so it’s still under discussion. Q7: Groza is too weak and can't be fielded! Any considerations of giving Standard-rarity Dolls a chance to be "promoted", so that they stand a chance against Elite Dolls? A7: Yes, there will be such opportunities. Their battle performance, skill numbers, or forms will be improved, making them stronger within their own niche. But this kind of chance should appear at an appropriate time in the story so it doesn’t feel abrupt. Q8: Fire & Electric teams feel too weak! A8: Character design will continue to revolve around attributes, gradually evening out the differences in battle performance. The current dominance of water-poison teams will be changed. The goal is to make attribute teams the best option when they have elemental advantage. ※Fire team will gain a new type of battle resource. Q9: [Phase Clash] seems biased towards RTT (Round Trip Time?). Will that be the gameplay direction going forward? A9: Although attempts have been made, the current performance still isn’t good enough. In future plans, [Phase Clash] will have periodic elements of RNG, NPCs that can interact and give missions, and maps with more random structures, keeping the experience fresh. Currently, the transition from exploration to turn-based battle feels disjointed. There are plans to add exploration elements and assassination mechanics with higher tolerance (not directly entering battle), to strengthen its performative nature and let players better appreciate the characters. Q10: Originally, the only sword character was Krolik, then Ullrid in June 2024 (CN Banner schedule). Counting the 30-odd Dolls released, there are only 2 Blade users. Are Blade users unlikely to be released? A10: Blade users will be released at a pace of about one per year. They will all be GFL2 original characters, since GFL1 Dolls were all firearm users. Q11: Melee traits are no longer unique to Blade characters but exist as a convenient way to bypass cover reduction for other characters like UMP45 or AK-15. Meanwhile, the melee advantage of ignoring cover has been overshadowed by increasingly powerful AOE skills. Does pure melee need a rework? A11: The positioning of pure melee characters is indeed very awkward now. The dev team is considering solutions. The current idea is to give sword characters unique mechanics, letting them serve as countermeasures against certain enemy types, ensuring they have more opportunities of being used. Closing Notes - The dev team emphasized they do read questionnaires, e-mails, and CS feedback. Players are encouraged to voice concerns through official channels, not attack each other. - Some answers may have been partially missed or imprecisely recorded. - The reps from the dev team, especially Yuzhong, answered earnestly. Players hope the dev team can continue holding strong.
