In deze onzekere tijd draaien onze ambassades in het Midden-Oosten op volle kracht om Nederlanders te helpen. Van @MinBZ collega’s hoorde ik hoe hard er gewerkt wordt aan consulaire dienstverlening, nu veel NL'ers informatie en hulp zoeken. Dank voor deze inzet. Let op elkaar.

❗️ Oproep aan alle gestrande Nederlanders in het Midden-Oosten: Deel je gegevens via het Crisis Contactformulier: nederlandwereldwijd.nl/crisis/formuli… Zo krijgen wij een beter beeld van de hoeveelheid getroffen reizigers en waar zij zich bevinden. Dat draagt bij aan betere ondersteuning.

The attacks on #Bahrain are deeply concerning and unacceptable. In my conversation with FM Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, I conveyed our solidarity and stressed the importance of preventing further escalation and safeguarding stability in the region.

Iran’s attacks on targets in #Kuwait are unacceptable and must stop. I expressed our solidarity during my call with FM Sheikh Al-Sabah and underlined our deep concern about wider regional escalation and the impact on Kuwait’s security and stability.

On 4 May, the Kingdom of the Netherlands commemorates all civilians and soldiers who lost their lives in wars and peacekeeping missions since the WWII. At 8pm CEST, we observe two minutes of silence to honour their sacrifice and reflect on the importance of freedom and peace.

On #WorldPressFreedomDay we stand with journalists who risk their lives to report the truth under often very challenging circumstances, also in wars and conflict situations such as in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine and elsewhere. 1/2
