Over the weekend, the Ugandan #WhatGirlsWant cohort met in Kampala to finalise their 2026 advocacy plan. The agenda prioritises SRHR access, HIV justice, quality healthcare, and the protection of AGYW’s human rightsas we work to close persistent gendered inequities.

The #UN80 reform will reshape the UN for years to come. Decisions being made now are a defining opportunity to protect and strengthen Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through clear institutional safeguards. This is a critical moment.

When HIV responses ignore intersectionality, they fail the people most impacted: women, girls, trans and gender-diverse people, sex workers, migrants, and young people. A feminist HIV response centres lived realities, challenges power, and refuses one-size-fits-all solutions.

HIV does not exist in isolation. It intersects with gender inequality, poverty, racism, criminalisation, and patriarchy. A feminist response to HIV means addressing all the systems that shape who is most affected, who is heard, and who is left behind.

When abortion is restricted, rights are violated.
