1. Govt refuses to divulge the ARAI report that studied the effects of E20 petrol on Indian vehicles. An RTI seeking the same was filed by Mr. Nachiket Deshpande. 2. Over 80 % of petrol powered vehicles - both cars and two wheelers - running on Indian roads are NOT compliant with E20 petrol. Compliance here refers to both material and full compliance! 3. If there's nothing to hide, why not reveal the effects of E20 petrol on older vehicles? 4. If there are indeed adverse effects caused by E20 petrol - as suspected and experienced by many - why are there no separate nozzles at petrol bunks for non-E20 petrol? 5. If ARAI has found out that E20 petrol causes adverse effects on specific brands of vehicles, is it not the right of vehicle owners to know this, and be able to access non-E20 fuel? officially leaving bangalore today. i wanted to write an article with my thoughts on the city, and some of its problems but i don’t want to be the doomer on the timeline. i think blr is a special place where any upstart with ambition and agency can not just succeed from 0 but also find other crazy ones who’ll become lifelong friends along the way. despite its infra and socio-cultural/political issues, i think blr has the highest talent/sq. km ratio in the entire country with a healthy amount of fun things to do with run clubs and food clubs and quiz nights — all of these get a bad rep but i think blr’s people taking it upon themselves to infuse fun into the city is what makes it special. i could write a whole article just tagging everyone i met in the last 1.5 years but you know who you are — ty for all the fun times! will be back in june for a bit. till then, bombay is calling. expect a lot of delhi/bombay/blr tweets in the next few weeks 🫡

@IndiaNewGen In Karnataka, they just sent income notices to some sellers whose upi transactions exceeded 20L and the result was massive protest, threat to stop essential services etc etc and within weeks the notices were rolled back.😑😑

No one pays tax like a salaried class. Except salaried, everyone decides how much income to disclose and how much tax to pay. I looked at my yearly bonus pay slip. Neatly 35% of that has been taken by the govt. Ask a street vendor to pay at the same rate. Garam kadhai se marega.
