Labour government policy is achieving what Britain's enemies could only have dreamed of: weakening the country, its most valuable people and its ability to protect itself and its interests.

🚨EXCLUSIVE🚨 SAS soldiers are resigning in significant numbers over fears they will be subjected to “witch hunts” by human-rights lawyers. Multiple sources have claimed that personnel from across 22 SAS, the Army’s most elite fighting force, have applied for premature voluntary release. The Telegraph is withholding the exact figure for security reasons. However, several SAS sources have described the recent losses as “significant” and a “threat to national security”. At least two squadrons, D and G, are believed to have been affected, with insiders saying outrage over recent war crime probes into Afghanistan and Syria, which have been branded “witch hunts”, are believed to be the main driving forces. Among those understood to have resigned include several senior warrant officers, who are the backbone of the special forces and among the most experienced troops in the regiment. A number are understood to have applied for release “on principle” just before Christmas. “Morale is s--t at the moment,” one insider with knowledge of the recent losses told me, while another said there was “considerable disquiet” in the regiment as a result. The SAS resignations are a major blow to the famed special forces unit, which is the tip of the spear in any military operation and is deployed globally. Full story: telegraph.co.uk/gift/ee5ad8ccb…

@AllisonPearson It will take the armed forces decades to recover from where successive governments have left them. And that's even if we can vote in a functioning administration do what's necessary: at the moment, not a single tier of government, nor the Civil Service, is fit for any purpose.

@BucketsOf_Rain I am sort of enjoying it; but it all just emphasises how deep in the sh!t the UK really is. Not a single tier of government, nor the Civil Service, is fit for purpose. Add in the schools/universities teaching CRT and DEI and you can see why the Greens are polling at almost 20%.

Am I meant to be feeling sorry for the civil service? Because I don’t, not in the slightest.

EU enters full Owellian mode, where words start to mean the opposite of what they once did.. …placing the word “DEMOCRACY” on the side of the EU HQ in Brussels—an institution now with arguably more power than any other in Europe, and one where not a single person is elected.

“After 12 years of living in London - I’m telling you that girls like me cannot survive here” “I earn over £100k a year and it’s still not enough” Now ask yourself how millions of Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi families etc. which much higher than average unemployment rates - all manage to move and live in London? That’s right - the Government has funded them all to do so, courtesy of the British taxpayer.

@BucketsOf_Rain My worry is that no progress can be made without a complete reversal of the "all British history is bad/whiteness is a crime/the British Empire was uniquely evil/we owe everyone reparations" attitudes that infest the governing classes and the entire public and third sectors.

@TheGhostSleepi1 I used to live in Tower Hamlets. I remember when my girlfriend told me she was walking though Wapping and a group of immigrant youths/men started following her shouting "hey, you white b!tch". She just went into the nearest shop until they left.

@AphraBrandreth @CommonsForeign Mandelson's Common Civil Service Pass shows it was issued on 6 January. Ollie Robbins was appointed to the FCDO on 8 January. How could Robbins be responsible for a decision that pre-dates his tenure? Also maybe ask if the pass is issued before or after vetting is complete.

For a while now I have been writing in English on X - and I have recently started doing the same on my biggest platform Facebook. Not because I have abandoned my Danish voice. But because what is happening in Europe is not a Danish problem. It is not a French problem. It is not a Swedish, German or British problem. It is our problem. All of us. At the same time. And you cannot fight a war that crosses every border by only speaking to the people on your own street. This is not an “us” question. It is a “we” question. The same forces are at work across the entire Western world. The same ideology expanding into the same institutions. The same political establishment looking the other way. The same media calling those who speak up racists, extremists, hatemongers. The same silencing. In every language. And behind all of it - something that goes deeper than politics. Deeper than immigration statistics and election results and EU directives. Because what we are really facing is a spiritual battle. A civilization that has cut itself off from its own roots. That removed God from the public square and replaced Him with the state, the screen and the self. That dismantled the family, dissolved the distinction between man and woman, and told an entire generation that freedom means having no obligations to anything larger than yourself. A civilization that weakened itself from within - and is now surprised to find itself vulnerable from without. The forces moving against the West are not only political. They are spiritual. And they will not be defeated by politics alone. That is why I write. In English. To whoever will listen. Because the people who understand what is at stake need to find each other - across languages, across borders, across the noise. We are more than we know. And we are needed.❤️‍🔥🪽✝️

Britain introduced stamp duty in 1694 to pay for a war with France. Worth every penny, by the way. Great war. The war ended three years later. We are now 329 years into the temporary measure. Absolutely barnstorming governance. Genuinely world-class. The tax now raises 1.3% of government revenue while destroying an estimated £10bn a year in economic value. It has frozen housing transactions at below half pre-2008 levels. It has left 37% of English workers stuck in jobs beneath their qualification level, the worst rate in the OECD. It suppresses wages. It suppresses labour mobility. It suppresses everything except house prices, which it quietly and lovingly protects. In 2020 the government suspended it and called that good economics. This April they put it back up because they needed the money. Same tax. Same economists telling them it’s catastrophic. Different party, identical conclusion. The maths has never once cared who’s in government. Remarkable that the politicians haven’t noticed. Read: gbtt.info/stamp-duty.html @GreatBritishTT

GBTT Special - Stamp Duty What started out as a way to fund war against the French ended up funding a war against our own young and upwardly mobile The tax raises 1.3% of government revenue and destroys an estimated £10 billion annually in economic value Any serious government would abolish it on day one gbtt.info/stamp-duty.html

I took part in the Erasmus scheme and it was terrible. My home university abandoned me, ignoring all my attempts to contact them with the various problems I encountered, and the French students wanted nothing to do with the exchange students. To fit credit requirements, I had to take classes early in the morning and into the evening, sabotaging any attempts I could have made to meet locals. I stopped attending quite early on because it wasn’t safe to be out alone in the dark. The other Erasmus students were great and the uni put on a few fun trips for us but it was hardly the experience I was promised. If I had to use one word to describe my Erasmus experience it would be stressful. There was the bureaucracy but the main problem was the street harassment. I spent months running from men who approached me and explicitly told me they wanted to fuck me because I was blonde and pale until I had a bike accident and had to come back to England early. I was actually relieved it was over. These were not French men but foreigners (they all had strong accents) for whom I was an exotic temptation. When I say running, I mean that in the literal sense. They chased me down the street on multiple occasions and even tried to follow me into university buildings. All the exchange students I knew were afraid to be out alone at night. It wasn’t just me. We had to move around in packs for safety. If I had a daughter, knowing what I know now, I would not let her go on an Erasmus placement. Young women should not be encouraged to travel alone to countries where women are frequently attacked. Maybe in the past the Erasmus scheme would have been a great experience for young people, but now travelling alone in Europe as a young woman comes with huge risks.
Brian Cox@ProfBrianCox

It’s really good news, this - and I’m also encouraged by the positive reaction from Europe (below is just one example). Maybe we’ve turned the corner and can finally begin to put the last decade behind us.

This is worth repeating: I never cared that you were gay until you started shoving it down my throat, and I never cared what color you were until you started blaming me for your problems. I never cared about your political affiliation until you started condemning me for mine. I really never even cared where you were born until you wanted to erase my history and blame my ancestors for your problems. I never even cared if your beliefs were different from mine until you said my beliefs were wrong. But now I care. My patience and tolerance are gone, and I am not alone in feeling like this. There are millions of us who feel like this.

@BucketsOf_Rain @davidparry100 It's difficult to be heard when the public institutions and broadcast media are (largely) still very much pro the causes of decline and the UK's apparent role as the provider of global welfare. The growth in support form the Greens shows the mountain we need to overcome.

@BucketsOf_Rain You'd think that the next election would be a shoo-in for any sensible right of centre party: "they increased your taxes to provide welfare for immigrants who raped your children." The Left will scream at that, that but it's essentially true.
