You speak English, you access non-Chinese websites, you've even moved overseas. And still — kids in rural China have a bigger worldview and better values than you. Embarrassing, isn't it?😏
cat😷🍉🇸🇩🇨🇩🇧🇩@mercurial_moons

I need white leftists to realise that you only ever hear great things about China because those who are actually suffering in China literally have NO WAY TO REACH YOU. They don’t speak English. They can’t access non-Chinese websites. They obviously can’t move overseas.

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ There it is you dropped the mask. Instead of arguing facts, you went straight to racist generalizations. You should’ve led with that instead of pretending to debate history you clearly don’t understand. Conversation over.

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ You don’t know what you are talking about. You choose to embrace the narrative that is more comfortable for you. Your people are just naturally too chaotic, prone to violence and not mentally disposed for the requirements of civilised societies. That’s mostly it.

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ Precolonial systems existed, but colonialism restructured borders, governance & economies for extraction. Japan rebuilt as a sovereign state with institutional continuity & external support. Different cases not comparable. you don’t even know what you’re talking. You’re the joke

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ I was saying that “disrupted systems” as opposed to cohesive and arbitrary borders were already the norm before any external rule. And Japan got cities reduced to dust while you got improved infrastructures. Indeed they had worse starting point and ended on top. End of the joke

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ Pre-colonial conflict doesn’t cancel colonial impact. The Scramble for Africa was structured external rule, not just competition.Japan rebuilt with strong institutions + external support (Dodge Plan). Different starting points ≠ comparable outcomes. Anything else is misleading

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ They didn’t receive any substantial financial reparations. Talking of being unified, you were divided and suffered from tribal wars before any European stepped foot on your countries. So no need to claim it’s after the fact.

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ False equivalence. Japan remained a unified state with institutions, then received major support like the Dodge Plan. Many colonies inherited disrupted systems and arbitrary borders very different starting points.

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ No it reflects intrinsic root problems that are unrelated to this. Japan got cities annihilated by atomic bombs, that’s without a question a worse fate. Yet, they rebuilt themselves without obtaining reparations financial and became one of the leading economies. No victim status.

Mo Salahs legacy is untouchable, it will age beautifully. The fans including Liverpool fans and pundits also including Liverpool pundits that have spent most of the season running him down.. are just wasting their time and exposing themselves as twats. Get the man a statue built

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ Some ventures weren’t profitable, but colonial economies still centered extraction and control . Post independence struggles reflect disrupted institutions, imposed borders, and dependence not proof colonization was beneficial.

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ And yet you will see reports from generals stating that they lost more than they invested by trying to venture and settle in North Africa… Which is why they retreated. After decolonisation you often see countries worse and that’s not due to mere extraction of few resources…

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ Infrastructure didn’t make it equal ,railways mainly moved resources to ports. Systems relied on coercion (see Congo Free State atrocities). “Ending wars” meant imposed control. The system was built for extraction, not mutual development.

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ No they also shared infrastructures, techniques to control environment and agriculture, put an end to tribal wars with a global government, etc… You only choose to see the negatives. I’m not saying intent was just angelic but it was not a one sided plunder either.

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ Modern influence (e.g. China in Africa) isn’t the same as formal colonial rule. Deals often trade resources for infrastructure ,rail, manufacturing pathways. costly but negotiated. Colonization imposed direct control and extraction. Everyone did it’ ignores scale and structure.

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ Yes and China is absolutely doing a land and resources grab as we speak on many countries around him or in Africa. But only white man bad. If you take a step back you realise that it was universal from the strong civilisations towards the weakest regardless of race.

@GothKasintahan @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ Listing other empires doesn’t excuse or redefine modern European colonialism. Events like the Scramble for Africa were deliberate, industrial-scale systems of extraction tied to racial hierarchy. Saying ‘everyone did it’ dodges that scale, recency, and lasting impact.

@Nullaraa @JLonokapu @benwehrman @Frojax_ I recommend that you translate this tweet to have more perspective on the question than just blaming European for a phenomenon that was global throughout history and sometimes much worse than them.
