1935 again and #readingfc are narrowly beaten 1-0 by perennial bogey team Arsenal. Again, won’t be a popular opinion, stripes over hoops for me.

1935, @ReadingFC beat Corinthians 8-3 in a rather sexy blue and white STRIPED kit. A kit that featured beautifully across many seasons for #readingfc - and would make a welcome break from the tired looking hoops.

⚽️| #onthisday 2018. @sonealuko finest moment for the club so far - this wonder goal sealed all 3 points in a crucial 1-0 win over QPR, before @VitoMannone88’s big penalty save, in Paul Clements first game in charge. #ReadingFC

⚽️| #onthisday 2010. The iceman seemed to love a goal at Leicester. @JKebe opened the scoring before @churchy18 was upended after a driving run in to the box, resulting in a penalty that Gylfi calmly tucked away, as #ReadingFC ran out 2-1 winners.

⚽️| #onthisday 2008. What a pair of dead ball specialists in @johnnyost and @nickyshorey22. Without @GlenLittle07 Johnny Oster woulda played a serious amount of games for #ReadingFC. A double from Andre Bikey saw off Birmingham 2-1 in the same month MGMT released Spectacular 😍

⚽️| #onthisday 1999. Jimmy Mac and Super Darren Caskey both scoring superb goals in a 2-1 win over Wycombe. Andy Bernal with an afternoon to forget. He has an autobiography due out this year. Should be interesting 🌳👀 #ReadingFC

⚽️| #onthisday 1994. Promotion chasing Reading grab a big 2-1 win at Hull City. Both goals coming from red hot striker Jimmy Quinn, who went on to score 35 league goals for #ReadingFC in the 1993/94 season.

⚽️| #onthisday 1995. It’s not all about goals you know. Big up @ShakaHislop in this vid making a couple of flying saves. Scotty Taylor racing away to score the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Stoke City at the Victoria Ground. SHAKA SHAKA SHAKA #ReadingFC

⚽️| #onthisday 2012. #ReadingFC give Barnsley a right Royal roasting. Goals from @jobimcanuff7 (who I got to mob in the celebrations), two from Jem Karacan and one from @JasonRoberts30 as Reading closed the gap on league leaders Southampton. WE ARE GOING UP!

⚽️| #onthisday 2015. The sound on this doesn’t do the best atmos at the Madjeski for years, justice. What a great night though. Goals from HRK, @gmccleary12 and @jamiemackie85 put #ReadingFC into the FA Cup semi-final with a 3-0 win over Bradford City.

⚽️| #onthisday2008. This screamer from Marek Matejovsky gave a plucky #ReadingFC side the lead at Anfield, but sadly it wasn’t enough to pick up any points on the day. Matejovsky always feels like the one that got away that could have been awesome for us. Never mind.

⚽️| #onthisday 1992. Former Hull City Manager Phil Brown scores a spectacular own goal as #ReadingFC beat Bolton 1-0 at Elm Park. The assist coming from lifelong Reading/Chiltern Edge boy AND Australia international Stuart Lovell. Not our most memorable Bolton game of the 90s 😠

⚽️| #onthisday 1999. It’s funny how certain goals/games stick in the head. Here’s Reading winning at high flying Bournemouth. Scott Howie with a wonder save before Mark McKeever grabbed the only goal of the game. #ReadingFC

⚽️| #onthisday 2005. Anyone for a Dave Kitson hat-trick in a 3-1 win against West Ham? Not great times for Pardew so wasn’t it just beautiful that big Dave rubbed it in. #ReadingFC
