Here's a structural map of a solution. Orientation at the top. Thomistic in logic: ordered ends, hierarchy of goods, common good, law, authority, justice, participation & continuity. A basis for resisting managerial capture & reordering systems toward metaphysical alignment.

I don’t think you miss the point. But both SNS and LA reveal the same deeper problem: highly organized systems without intrinsic orientation to truth, love, or communion. Even solutions more aligned with restoration can be absorbed into bureaucratic, managerial, and incentive-driven structures. So the real challenge may not be fixing entrenched soulless systems, but designing systems that better serve the soul—and forming souls capable of remaining metaphysically aligned within alien systems.

And so the only recourse is to call upon someone with a 140+ IQ (like Aquinas), who outranks them on every measure, to reason with them on their own terms until, if they have a shred of honesty left, they cannot help but admit defeat on the very terms they themselves set.

The sad thing is that people with a low IQ have been told that they are too stupid to understand - that what they can plainly see with their own eyes is wrong. They don't have the accreditation/certificates & so get shouted down, losing their confidence.

I think this belief that you need a high IQ to understand what is true is a lie. The lower the better. It's the people from 85 to 140+ wrecking society with their arrogant theories, trying to reconstruct reality & leave their own 'legacy' who are truly thick as wood.

You only need an IQ of 55 to get the basic gist with Aquinas & moderate realism generally. I am living proof of this fact & I really am not ashamed to admit it.

Different metaphysics get you to 2+2=4. Platonist: real abstract order Aristotelian: quantity abstracted from things Conceptualist: rational concepts Nominalist/formalist: conventions/formal rules Fine so far. But only moderate realism survives contact with reality as a whole

Reid is good, but he's not enough. He says: “Common sense tells us this is real.” But Aristotle & Aquinas say: “This is real because beings have intelligible natures, ends, and acts of existence.” Relying only on Reid is like trusting your smoke alarm but never studying fire.

Even basic common sense tell us from things like AI monks, conscious AI claims, the denial of embodied sex, etc. that the assumptions producing these outcomes are flawed. So the question is: which metaphysical assumptions preserve reality & who articulated them best?

Ordered End is the institution’s actual purpose & it's revealed, when push comes to shove, by what it sacrifices for. If that end is clear & true, it can succeed coherently. But if it's false or unclear, success becomes unstable & failure becomes harder to diagnose.

Apparently that's true about Buddhist temples ordaining AI monks. As far as I understand it, Buddhism has room for this designation b/c Buddhist metaphysics generally denies that beings have an eternal self-substance. So, identity is conventional & functionally dependent.

read this book years ago when i was hospitalized for schizophrenia &c and it was eye-opening. gallimore maps precisely how psychedelics switch ur brains reality channel. the world u normally see isn't more "real" than what dmt shows u, it's just the most energy-efficient model of the world. consensus reality is a local minimum, not the truth, truths whatever we agree on .. and other drugs tune the brain into other channels of reality, which leads to all these crazy experiences that cant even be classified as hallucinations; they were real, the users actually experienced this shit. their eyes were open and they felt it. so why tf wouldnt all this be a simulation then

@iammethankyou @OrdoFramework I think of Bill Nye and Tyson as being more problematic than Hossenfelder. I don't follow her closely, but she passed the Gender vs Sex test as far as I recall. Nye and Tyson idealogies are far more obvious.

Is it just me or do the giants of science tend to be metaphysical realists? The more renowned, the more likely they are to believe reality has a deep intelligible order & that the mind can discover it. The least renowned treat science as models, methods & useful descriptions.
