@theamelia__ If you can't afford a 40% tip, don't eat out taken seriously would mean: Fewer ppl eat out Restaurants make less 💰. They hire fewer servers or close altogether. Her job literally depends on customers deciding it's worth it to go out, not on shaming them into paying almost double

@theamelia__ Almost $40.00 tip? Most people can't afford that. You can't tell people not to go out to eat. They might just treat themselves once a month for all you know. I was a waitress, I would've been happy with $10.00.

@1macvnt @theamelia__ In what country? Back in the 90s, it was $3ish an hour. Waitresses in the U.S. make around $15 to $18 per hour on average.

@theamelia__ 100% yall don’t realize the server minimum wage is $2.13? that’s beyond unlivable. basically working for free without a tip. i always tip. even if the service wasn’t amazing. it would take a lot for me to not tip at all
