@egoshitposts Yes, I hope so too. But while they claim to support free interpretation and say it represents family, they put the ring on the ring finger. They could have placed it on another finger without such an obvious meaning. That’s what upsets me.😞

@PVCFork3 See this is part of my reasoning for not buying it being wedding ring. It feels like they just slapped it on that finger to rile up fans but I think it'll be a fakeout and not end up being a wedding ring at all, but a family ring/symbol of connection with found family

I do ship Chreon, but that’s fanwork—I NEVER expect it to be canon. Still, if Capcom wants to hint Leon has a spouse, shouldn’t they be more rigorous??? With no buildup, no clues, they just slap a ring on his finger—it feels like forcing him to breed. I almost pity him. 1/3 #RE9

@thesunnthestars Yes, the time gap is long—but doesn’t that just mean there’s no buildup? If it’s only to show he’s older, he could’ve worn it on another finger.

@PVCFork3 well, it’s been 13 years (in universe) since we last saw ada, & 11 since we last saw Claire and the rest of the main players. anything can happen in a decade. The ring’s just a wink and a nod that Leon’s older now. That he has been living.

@PVCFork3 他们真的可以格局放更开，让克里斯克莱尔他们都戴上戒指（而且只有戴在不同手指或者都戴在无名指才能终止闹剧），这才更像他们的“家”的概念，共同作战相互陪伴的伙伴家人。但是他们应该会永远打马虎眼🙂‍↔️ 好搞笑，以为是一个机智的卖点，其实大翻车。

@xixiosp Totally agree! They say fans can interpret freely, but come on. Capcom wouldn’t add such a detail without intent—it must have been discussed internally. They’ve done similar things with Wesker and Vergil. Back then the woman wasn’t specified, but Leon won’t be that lucky.

@PVCFork3 They probably intend to create a new character that is Leon's son, being Leon's son or daughter would that character already have a lot of good faith with the public, but I do agree that is very cheap and dumb what they did

Now, which Resident Evil character even fits? They’re either dead, tied to bioweapon deals, rejected by Leon, or barely connected. And since I don’t believe Capcom will dare let Leon come out, does that leave only civilians? But Leon would never drag one into danger. 2/3 #RE9

Damn you, Capcom—I don’t care whether Leon is married or not. What I care about is that if you make Leon, who despises BOWs, marry a spy who traffics bioweapons and steals intelligence, you’ll ruin both charismatic characters😡😡 #re9

Again, this has nothing to do with shipping. As a player who has bought and played almost every game in the series, if they suddenly make Leon get married and have children—especially in a way that contradicts his hatred of BOWs—I’m done with the series.😓😓 #re9

I sympathize with Nakanishi for being harassed by fans, but honestly he kind of deserved it. If they never planned to explain the ring, they shouldn’t have added it. 😓😓 Using cheap tricks to stir up fights means they must face the backlash. #re9
