@annie_parker I was in Sydney this week @annie_parker & seeing groups of women from all over the world wander the streets in their country's jerseys was so good. And out in Melbourne last night too, the city was pumping.

@bigyahu If one of those two companies, Milkrun & Uber, were founded by a female founder then your thesis would make sense. But at the moment less than 2% of women have access to these funds. It's not 50%. These events help start new conversations about how things can change. #makeitfair

@PipStocks It should never be the sole criteria but VC orthodoxy says portfolio returns follow power law curves, and that if they don’t take the risk of backing a few Milkruns, they don’t end up with a meaningful stake in an Uber.

@bigyahu 2. PS. I never said female founders wouldn’t make their investors loads of money, in fact, the reverse.

@PipStocks Exponential growth is what venture capital is intended for, though. It's way up the end of the asset allocation bell curve at high-risk/high-reward. There should certainly be more capital available for other kinds of growth path, and for female founders...

@bigyahu Learning is great but why does it take so long? The 2018 @BCG study proved that women build more sustainable businesses. Let's stop asking founders to deliver 'hockey-stick' growth & work with them to build a business that is long lasting for all stakeholders. $8.6M for 10.

@PipStocks I've no evidence gender played a role. Get-big-fast-or-fail model. I didn't invest in Milkrun but did in something similar that VC passed on because the founders weren't spending enough money to grow fast enough! We're all learning from experience - investors too.

Incredible service @Westpac My card was used to buy a computer online at 7.17pm. At 7.18 I got a text asking if it was me. I said no, got a call, card cancelled & fraud investigating. Charge removed. The best thing is my new digital card is already in my wallet. Wow! Amazing.
