I really hope Smart Bricks flop hard. They exist solely to hike up the price of kits and offer the cheapest ‘smart’ toy features that don’t even work half the time It’s 2026 and these sound like bootleg toys you can get for $2

Here’s a sample of LEGO Pokemon characters talking with the Smart Brick installed LEGO refers to these sounds as “authentic” but they don’t come from any of the games. Some don’t even sound remotely close. Others even sound reused from the LEGO Star Wars line

@100percentnotry I mean, just because you're not watching the shows doesn't mean that you won't come across those designs on a search. I mean, I fell in love with Virtue and Nadleeh before watching 00. Basically people will just buy what they like regardless of watching.

to add on to this point, while i "can't understand" why people buy these kits like this i can appreciate that they're bandai's target audience. bandai aren't banking on the HG gallus-j making them millions, it's the mgex reprints and RGs that fly off the shelves.
