Dave Ramsey tells a 64 year old on disability making $27,000 a year to find extra income Caller: "I get Social Security disability. I’m 64. It’s $27,000 a year. My rent is about $1,700 a month, and I have this $9,000 credit card debt, which I pay faithfully" Dave: "Come up with a self employed idea you can do with your limitations, as long as it makes you $1,000 or more a month"

@Error404GaryB @nicksortor Nope. You said ‘this fundamentally kneecaps America’s ability to project force’. Absolutely wrong. Impact/affect? Maybe. Historical precedents clearly indicate you’re wrong and you fail to grasp that repositioning of forces is a natural evolution of a changing paradigms.

That’s a lovely straw man, Joe. I didn’t say one ally is “absolutely critical” to every hypothetical future operation until the end of time. I said Germany is a major, existing, proven hub for US operations: Ramstein, Landstuhl, EUCOM/AFRICOM, logistics, C2, medevac, basing rights and NATO access. Your answer is basically: “Well, in some imaginary future war with different requirements, maybe not.” Fine. But that doesn’t make my point wrong. It just means you had to invent a different argument because you couldn’t answer the one I made.

🚨 BREAKING — IT’S OFFICIAL: President Trump is WITHDRAWING 5,000 US TROOPS from Germany after Chancellor Merz criticized 47’s Iran operation Good! Tell NATO to take care of themselves. We don’t need them. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!

@Error404GaryB @nicksortor You said ‘this kneecaps Americas Global reach’ - this is where you completely blew any credibility. This is why I attempted to chat with you. No ally, no allies location, resources, or permissions are essential to the US ability to reach globally. You failed out of chute.

Joe, this is now your third reply saying my point is “obviously flawed” without identifying the flaw. That’s not exposing anything. That’s just announcing confidence and hoping nobody asks for detail. I named specifics: Ramstein, Landstuhl, EUCOM/AFRICOM, logistics, medevac, C2, basing rights and NATO access. You replied with “you don’t understand”, “typical”, and “expert.” So for the fourth time: which specific part is wrong? One sentence will do. Try facts this time.

@Error404GaryB @nicksortor This is the space/cyber/AI/Drone/Robotic era. A nation can be crippled without firing a shot. Sending a large combat force around the world is not a preferred COA, but nobody does it better and it has gotten a lot easier…and will continue to do so.

@Error404GaryB @nicksortor Despite NATO commitments, ‘allies’ withheld support during Vietnam. France and Spain refused to support operation El Dorado Canyon. GE & France opposed the Iraq War, denying use of bases. Didn’t stop us. Want to go on? You ‘allies’ have proven unreliable, we plan accordingly

@Error404GaryB @nicksortor Not sharing specifics there, professional pontificator. Just think bigger/out of the box. Strategic objectives change. Needs change. Materiel capabilities change. The ‘playing field’ changes. Stop thinking with a large-scale/boots on the ground mentality. Therein is your ‘wrong’.

Joe, this is just ad hominem with extra syllables. “Limited information”, “skewed perspective” and “agenda” are not rebuttals. They’re fog machines. My point wasn’t “Germany matters because Cold War.” My point was present-day infrastructure: Ramstein, Landstuhl, EUCOM/AFRICOM, staging, medevac, logistics, command reach and allied access. If the playing field has changed, name the replacement network. Where does the US move the lift, trauma care, C2, personnel, basing rights and NATO access? Poland? Romania? CONUS? Somewhere imaginary? “Much has changed” isn’t an argument, Joe. It’s a bumper sticker.

@Error404GaryB @nicksortor Sometimes the authors assertions are so bad it’s best just to expose them up front. It’s clear you have no clue how obviously flawed your entire point is, yet you write as though you’re posting facts. Typical. Expert.

Nice pivot, Joe. I didn’t ask whether the Pentagon owns a contingency folder. I asked which part of my point was wrong. “Drawdown has been discussed for decades” doesn’t rebut geography, logistics, Ramstein, Landstuhl, EUCOM/AFRICOM, or medical reach. And no, I won’t be posting my CV on Twitter to satisfy a rank-badge argument. Address the claim, not the author.

@Error404GaryB @nicksortor Didn’t say false, I said wrong. FYI, European drawdown has been on the boards for decades. Do you think we don’t have contingencies? Lol. I’m interested in your background/experience performing COA analysis at service/joint service/strategic level though, expert.

@PopRedSmoke @nicksortor Forty years and the best counter you’ve got is “lol” plus a CV flex? Which part is ludicrous: Ramstein, Landstuhl, EUCOM/AFRICOM in Germany, logistics, geography, or medical reach? Name the false assertion, Joe. A rank badge isn’t a rebuttal.

This is the problem with people who think sounding smug is the same as sounding informed. Germany is a hub because it gives the US exactly what modern military power needs: central location, mature infrastructure, integrated command, medical capability, logistics and rapid reach into three theatres. You don’t casually swap that out for “somewhere cheaper” like you’re changing broadband providers. “High time to realign” is what people say when they haven’t done the homework.
