Fire Services across Northumberland County have initiated a Total Burn Ban as of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. The Burn Ban will remain in effect until dry conditions and air quality improves. For further information please contact your local Fire Department.

In your home escape plan, take into account the abilities of everyone in the home. Be sure to note if someone needs assistance waking up or getting outside. Decide who will help that person exit the home.

You should only have one meeting place in your escape plan. Choose a permanent location such as a tree, mailbox or neighbours house, where everyone can be accounted for. Assign one person to let firefighters know if everyone is out of the home.

Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services will be at the Port Hope Fair on Sat, Sept 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids 12 and under can take the Junior Firefighter Challenge. The course has kid-based firefighting activities. There will be prizes for the quickest times.

All firefighters in Port Hope are volunteers. When there is an emergency, they respond to the fire station in their personal vehicles, with many using flashing green lights. Please pull over and let them pass. The quicker they get to the station the faster they can help.
