If you have ever been 23 weeks pregnant, you know that at this point, your baby (or babies!!) will make their presence felt! According to WhattoExpect.com, at 23 weeks, "[t]hose little arms and legs are packing more of a punch these days ... you might even see them poke through from the outside!" More GOOD news; 2025 Act 102 has been signed into law! The new law extends Medical Assistance (Medicaid) coverage for postpartum women from 60 days to 365 days, encouraging vulnerable moms to choose LIFE. Read more in our press statement at ProLifeWI.org/03182026-medic….

Happy #ThankfulThursday! Today we are diving into facts about weeks 21 and 22 of gestation (weeks 19 and 20 of human life). Now in the second half of pregnancy, human prenatal development transitions to be more directed towards getting the fetus ready to be born and thrive in her new environment. According to the Lozier Institute, many of the incredible milestones at this age include that the "the fetus responds to taste, temperature, pain, pressure, movement, and light with changes in heart rate and movement patterns." Happy #ThankfulThursday! Today we are examining weeks 19 and 20 of gestation (weeks 17 and 18 of human life). We're halfway there, and baby is making incredible developmental leaps! Notably, according to the Lozier Institute, "[b]y 19 weeks, the fetal heart has beat over 20 million times." In addition, "Many of the brain connections for processing pain have developed by 20 weeks." Also, it is at 20 weeks gestation normally when a pregnant woman goes in for a complete "anatomy scan" to learn in more detail how her child is developing, and often their gender! Happy #MiracleMonday! Today we are celebrating the ONE, unique, precious life that was saved from abortion last week here in WI!

A lot can happen in just a few short weeks! Happy #ThankfulThursday! Today we are looking at weeks 17 and 18 of gestation (weeks 15 and 16 of human life). Two major milestones at this point help the fetus prepare for life outside of the womb. According to the Lozier Institute, "At 17 weeks, fetal blood cells start forming in the bone marrow." Then, about a week later, "[a]irways in the lungs finish forming." Finally, we're seeing those chunky cheeks we're so familiar with in newborns.
