@Knightly_H Yup, got myself this (not so) little magnet last year at the Musée de l'Armée 👀 Best unnecessary purchase I made at a museum shop so far!

@Bargas_treanty @Sarusquilla_ Still can't believe a (relatively) low budget british comedy is the best armor has looked on screen in years. They didn't involve Capwell for nothing I suppose 😄

@Sarusquilla_ Exactly, that movie! The vibrant colors, the cool armors, everything. And for peanuts.

It's so funny to me when series and movies make medieval-fantasy projects and they justify the lack of accuracy on fantasy licenses that'd make the aesthetic cooler, when the 90% of the time they make the costumes uglier and less magical than actual medieval clothing

@ArystanAmanzol1 Haha yes, I probably spent enough time in Fromsoft games for it to look perfectly normal 😄🫣

@ArystanAmanzol1 Granted the size of the shield here is a bit ridiculous for 100% practical use, it's little compromise with the fantasy element and the fact these are prestige units meant to display power as much as do some actual fighting.

@Knightly_H Hehe thanks! Definitely did NOT go overboard with the shield size just for that painting 🫣🫣

@RuiseartMcSpain Haha yes, these are as much a prestige guard (one could call them walking royal billboards) as a 100% practical fighting unit. Shield could indeed have been a bit smaller but I tried to keep the 32mm minis in mind😄

@Prospass Excellent armor and sword, shield seems a bit large but the art painted on it deserves a “canvas” of that size.

@Bargas_treanty Yes! I was trying to sneak in a thematic fire pattern without going over-the-top with the sword shape.😄Glad you noticed!

@Prospass Is that a sligth "weave" for the blade? Very thematic for giving flavor while getting in a plausible and utilitarian design.

@BoredGuitarfish I wish I did but unfortunately these were done about a year ago ^^ I'm posting them now that the game has been announced! I'm actually pretty slow by 2024 standards 😅

@GabrielUbal2 Looks awesome! Love your use of cloth here, reminds me of an unused sketch I made for Rhaenys. It's like we've been working on the same project!😁

@Prospass I love your job! I really share the vision you have of the world of A Song of Ice and Fire!! (Of course my drawings are much simpler)

@Gloire_bb Would love to tackle the Andal/Seven Kingdoms period on my spare time one day though, now that would be fun ^^

@Gloire_bb Joke and fantasy world fun aside, developing a comprehensive timeline for the whole of ASOIAF was a bit beyond the scope of this project. But Aegon II being less than a couple centuries away from Robert's Rebellion, I'm fine with late med plate armour sticking around 150 years.

@Knightly_H What a time to be on the internet! I feel like I should comment more often under your posts, but I'm loving every one of them, with that slow and squishy brain of mine! 😊

@bacon_soy Haha thanks. I did make a cape-less sketch for reference too. Funny what difference it makes to the silhouette. ^^

@Prospass Love this realistic exploration of fantasy. I have been trying to find some historical ref for big shoulderpads, if you know of any xD
