@RHummBooks Please could we make this conversation via email, or direct message? I just want an idea if anyone can help. There are far too many books for me to keep, and many not in my areas of interest.

@atlantean526 I'm sorry David, I do remember your request but as I couldn't answer at once I lost track of it. I'm afraid that the disposal of our own stock has put rather a strain on the market. I'll ask Robert's advice and get back to you.

@RHummBooks Whilst I know you are "winding down" your own business, I really need some help to find a buyer or home for a large and eclectic collection of books from my late friend. I emailed a while ago, but got no reply.

@teignroy2 @Dave_H_King Yes, that's certainly the place. No sign of a railway!

@Dave_H_King @RHummBooks There are some similarities here. Gate is open here , the hedge beyond the has a similar shape

Anyone out there who can suggest location, or maybe even just the railway company, the gate seems an unusual design? @RHummBooks

@PeteMaddams A lovely part of the world. We used regularly to go down there to visit a bookbinder in Keynsham.

@RHummBooks I was in TCR5 at St Christopher house and yes I did move on to Marsham Street. I them moved to Bristol in 1977 with the Planning Inspectorate. Retired now and still live between Bristol and Bath.

@PeteMaddams Yes, that's right, Robert was in Winter Maintenance at the time. He remembers you as being in a section dealing with claims for injury due to uneven pavements, among other things. Did you move on to Marsham St in 1970?
English

@RHummBooks Did you used to work in St Christopher House in Southwark St in the late 1960s? I seem to recall you being there on the 2nd floor.

#OnThisDay 115 years ago this single track connection between Waterloo and Waterloo East, crossing Waterloo concourse and traversed by a moveable platform, was closed after 44 years disuse. The bridge remains crossing Waterloo Road. Image from this article buff.ly/XexMj9x

#OnThisDay 92 years ago Osterley was re-sited west onto the new Great West Road and renamed from 'Osterley & Spring Grove'. The distinctive brick tower and concrete obelisk were designed by Stanley Heaps based on a preliminary Holden design. Keith Valla buff.ly/jHJ04Ql

Other end of the scale! BR 2-6-0 No 78019. All Standards have similar cab layouts, though.

@railnigel Is that a 9F? I’ve been lucky enough to drive a couple of diesels; loved every minute!
