No wonder Thom Tillis decided not to run for re-election. His acute case of TDS and the collapse of democrat support, has made it impossible for him to even win a primary election. Tick Tock. The FILIBUSTER is now on the clock and about to be thrown into the trash bin of history. The end to debate (cloture) in the Senate, only took a simple majority, up until 1806. When the Senate changed the rules, they shifted the power away from the people and placed it into the hands of the Senate. Now it would take more than a simple majority, it would ALLOW the minority party to hold up legislation, in order to turn the Senate, into a den of thieves, as they traded favors and enriched themselves instead of serving the people. There’s a reason why Congress would never fully read the thousands of pages of legislation and everyone got to put in their little “claim” on taxpayers money, with no real public input. That is now in the process of changing. Go back to the CR fight between the Senate and the House in December of 2024. Trump was now running the “show,” even as “president elect.” That was the FIRST time that the PUBLIC was given the power back. The Senate did what it has done since 1806. They started horse trading in the back rooms and funneling taxpayers money into their favored backers pockets. Who would then sift some of that money, right back to the politicians. But then Speaker Johnson put the entire bill up for exposure to the public BEFORE a vote in the House. Once the thievery and corruption began to be exposed, the Senate version quickly died, as Senators ran for cover. Then Speaker Johnson put forward a much smaller bill, with the garbage removed. It went from a 1547 page Senate bill, to a 118 page version in the House that was quickly passed. I think a similar thing is happening with this government shutdown fight in Congress now. The democrats want to defund ICE and the Border Patrol and now Speaker Johnson and other republicans get to publicly EXPOSE what’s in the Senate bill, while they are on a two week vacation. What happens next? I think Speaker Johnson will now offer a “slim downed” version, that will fully fund ICE and Border Patrol, that will pass the House and then dare the democrats to vote it down or completely own the government shutdown. With TSA now being funded. The ENTIRE focus moves to the democrats protecting “illegals.” This will throw fuel on the fire to END the FILIBUSTER completely. Checkmate.

@dbranch909 It takes 60 votes to “end debate” (cloture) because of the Senate Filibuster rules. Up until 1806, all it took, was a “simple majority” to end “debate” and force a vote on legislation. That’s what Trump, Thune and Johnson are setting up for the Senate, to go back to.

There’s a reason why Trump refused to go. CPAC wasn’t ever MAGA. They were just pretenders, trying to ride Trump’s coattails and then jumping ship at the first opportunity. Inviting Jeffrey Epstein’s good friend Steve Bannon back, wasn’t a smart move either. Bannon tried to high jack MAGA and failed.

This sure is starting to look to me, like a “repeat” of what happened in the “CR fight” in Congress at the end of 2024. See the similarities? Remember what happened? The democrats thought they had a “deal,” so they voted and passed a CR that was filled with a lot of money laundering pork. Then they “sent” it to the House for approval. But instead. All the “poison pills” in the Senate version, were exposed to the public FIRST. That’s what’s beginning to happen. So now Speaker Johnson and the republicans, will strip away the democrats “demands” for “ZERO” spending on ICE and Border Patrol, along with a lot of the other pork spending. They will then pass the House version and send it back to the Senate and dare them to vote it down. It’s another win/win for Trump and a trap for the democrats/RINOS. 1) They cave and pass the House version and Trump wins. 2) They vote it down and continue to get the blame for the government shutdown and bashed for protecting illegal criminals over Americans. Another Trump win. After Trump funded TSA with money from the Big Beautiful Bill and sent ICE to help at airports, the democrats lost ALL leverage and they know it. The American people, are continually being “shown” that the Senate is “dysfunctional.” It’s purposeful. I think Trump is preparing the American people for what’s about to happen.
