@RayForSenate24 @emlwaters @Heritage It's not a "choice" for everyone, some people can't. So they should be punished for not being able to? Should their checks still be taxed to pay into social security or should they be exempt?

@emlwaters @Heritage Cutting benefits would require either reducing the benefit payment (which will happen automatically around 2033 by the way) or increasing the age at which people can collect (which would simultaneously increase the labor pool.

@emlwaters @Heritage Increasing the labor pool would require people to have more children, forcing more people off of government benefits and into the workforce and/or increasing legal immigration at all skill levels.

@KendallQuallsMN The tax burden is even worse than that because it doesn’t include the corporate taxes that are passed through in prices. The real tax burden in Minnesota is 20% (state spending divided by state GDP).

The Minnesota Democrat Party in the legislature has recently proposed higher fees and taxes on Minnesotans. It seems there is a lack of awareness regarding the billions of dollars wasted in fraud each year. If adjustments in tax rates are necessary, a drastic reduction would be more appropriate.
