I got a call tonight from a constituent whose son is in federal prison
He explained that he hasn’t heard from his son in several days (which is unusual for him), that his son suffers from multiple, potentially life-threatening health conditions that are going untreated in prison, and that he needed to know whether his son was still alive
He sent me the main switchboard number for the prison in question (which is on the east coast), and I called the number
Someone answered almost immediately
I explained who I was and why I was calling, and in particular that I needed to know whether this particular inmate was alive and well
The guy scolded me three times for calling “too f***ing late” and refused to tell me anything
Only when I persisted did he agree to check his records to confirm that the inmate in question was alive and well
After checking a list briefly, he came back to the phone and said “he’s here, and he’s alive and receiving the treatment he needs”
(His parents assure me that that’s simply not true)
I asked politely if someone could leave the inmate a message asking him to call his parents in the morning
He said, “it’s too late”
I responded, “I don’t mean now, I mean in the morning”
He scolded me again for calling too late, and then told me I’d have to call tomorrow and track down the inmate’s counselor
I asked him if he could relay the note to the counselor for me
He scolded me again for calling too late and asked me to call back tomorrow to track down the inmate’s counselor
I asked for the guy’s name
He refused to answer
I asked for his name again
He hung up on me
That’s not okay
Sadly, this is not the first time I’ve had this experience when talking to people from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons on behalf of constituents with an incarcerated family member suffering from a severe medical condition
And each occasion, I’ve been treated at best with dismissiveness and at worst with contempt and profanity
Has anyone else experienced this with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons?

Louisiana send residents who own an electric or hybrid vehicle notices that they must pay “road usage fees”
This is an annual bill
You pay with your taxes to build the roads, then they find any way they can to charge you again
The fee is $9 per month for electric vehicles and $5 per month for hybrid, to offset the loss in gas tax revenue

Minnesota is so retarded
We give hundreds of Billions of dollars to daycares and autism centers and they don’t verify they are an actual business or have kids or clients there
Meanwhile,
I’m getting my kitchen remodeled.
My licensed and insured contractor had to get a permit to unhook and rehook my sink
Then we had to have a city inspector verify the work
The Government literally does more auditing on a citizen installing a sink than they do to verify that learing centers getting Millions actually have kids there

Walter Schramm invested $6,000 in Amazon $AMZN stock in the late 1990s and, following a "buy and hold" strategy
He did not check his account for almost 20 years however
Thinking he had close to $100,000 by then, he checked his account, only to discover it empty
His stock was deemed "abandoned" and liquidated by the state of Delaware in 2008, through a process known as escheatment. Per the state, if you do not check your account for three years, it is deemed abandoned.
The state sold his shares for about $8,000 in 2008, and held the money for him.
Walter did receive a check for $8,000 in the end, but that was still a pittance relative to what the stock would have been worth had he checked his account regularly
The moral of the story is to check your accounts often

@gainzy222 Is there an election for these people or am I on the wrong chat group..?

This is gonna be pretty funny
Poor people will correctly vote “no” to freezing wallets
And rich people will be forced to offload all of their bitcoin in response, nuking the entire industry in a firesale
There is no way to avoid this
Bitcoin Archive@BitcoinArchive
Cypherpunk Jameson Lopp and other Bitcoin developers propose BIP-361 to freeze quantum vulnerable wallets. This could lock dormant BTC like Satoshi Nakamoto’s 1.1M coins, now worth $74B, before quantum computers can steal them.

Spot Chainlink ETF Inflows Just Keep on Comin'...
The two spot @chainlink ETFs in the US saw net inflows of around $400,000 yesterday on April 13.
While the daily inflows are small, what is impressive about them is the fact they have been so incredibly consistent since the products launched back in December.
Spot $LINK ETFs are yet to see a single day of net outflows, some four months after their official launch.
The two products now boast an AUM of nearly $93 million, equivalent to 1.42% of $LINK's market cap.

Anna’s Archive just lost a $322 million court case to Spotify and the big music labels without even showing up in court.
They scraped millions of songs from Spotify, broke through the protections, grabbed song info for 86 million tracks, and then shared actual music files on BitTorrent.
Spotify sued for 120,000 violations.
The judge gave them everything they asked for: $300M to Spotify + $22M to the labels.
The site is now banned from those domains, but the people behind it are anonymous and overseas, so collecting the money won’t be easy.
This is a big warning for “shadow libraries” that copy everything online.

Hard to believe someone could be so clueless. This article is a case study in mid-curve thinking. None of his takes are controversial or even creative or entertaining. This whole piece is shallow criticism dressed up as thoughtful analysis.
Chainlink is the comfiest hold in all of crypto. If you can't handle the pressure, then just sell or stay offline. I respect Nicu more than this cope artist. At least Nicu stood on business. When he lost patience, he got out. Good for him.
Nobody owes you an explanation. Nobody promised you weekly status reports. Nobody is going to hold your hand when the market doesn't bend to your will.
You really believe Chainlink didn’t carefully blueprint their strategy years in advance? Sergey has been game-theorizing the entire crypto industry since Bitcoin was $30. Ari Juels literally coined the term “proof of work.” Their strategy is built on a decades-long horizon.
You clean toilets in Panama.
This isn’t your online college business class final project. Nobody wants your peer evaluation. These guys are playing a completely different game than you can comprehend.
Chainlink is pursuing one of the most ambitious undertakings in human history. No other project is even attempting what they’re building. Brick by brick, they’re constructing a single, unified infrastructure layer for global finance. This project is actually the culmination of decades of technological and informational progress. It is achieving humanity’s oldest quest: the need to reliably record information and establish deterministic truth between humans. That is the foundation for civilization. That journey began with stone tablets and clay ledgers thousands of years ago in the first attempts by man to create reliable truth agreements. Chainlink is the living, breathing descendant of that ancient lineage, the realization of centuries of progress.
If you understand the scale of what they’re doing, they deserve your genuine respect.
This isn’t about your bags. Stop trying to make this about you. If you truly believe in $LINK, either have fun and enjoy the ride or just shut the fuck up and watch the vision unfold.
